We went to Tavistock Goose Fair, but there was sadly a lack of geese. However, this market, fair whatever, you would like to call it, went on forever. We were originally going for a couple of hours, but spent the entire day there. I would not have had it any other way. Lots of different stalls, selling unique items, loads... More

The Farmers Market in Tavistock is open two or three days per month on the town square, and does provide the opportunity to purchase all of your provisions in once place. Fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables, bread, butchery, cheeses and even beers, ciders and wines are all sold by the producers, and although prices can be a little higher than... More

We first visited in the evening and found "not a lot". Very quiet and we struggled to find somewhere to eat, however we turned up a side street and found "Robertsons Pizza place". Not being a pizza lover but having no other choice we went in. What a lovely welcome from the owner and "what a pizza". It was the... More

Our friends brought us here and it is amazing. There are so many booths under one roof and outside too. They change the vendors every day, some days its all flowers/vegetables, sometimes all meats and we showed up for clothing, electronics, bread and well over 75 booths. Across the street is a really nice Methodist church worth a visit. Parking is nearby... More

Lovely market just outside the Pannier market. Some great local produce, and although some bits are pricey others are incredibly good value. Fruit and veg gets a bit tired, but the butchers are excellent. Lots of free samples, too!

Loved all the homemade produce, crafts. Everyone seemed so friendly and helpful. You wil only find a co-op here which is so refreshing no massive Tescos! I would recommend buying all the local produce and fresh bread and maybe stop for a cream tea.

This is a really good little Farmers Market in a lovely town. Can't understand why it is listed under just Devon and not Tavistock itself. We stumbled upon it by accident. Had we been able to find it when we checked out the general Tavistock attractions we have have come sooner and allowed more time. We particularly recommend the meat... More

We had friends down from London, and casting around for something to do we decided on the Farmers Market in Tavistock as Tavi also has the unbeatable cheese shop and the formidable Creedys Deli. It did not disappoint. We came away with two joints of pork from two different farms, some beer fruit cake, tablet fudge, some preserves and of... More

Good enough to be the sole purpose of your visit to the town, although once you are here you must go to the nearby cheese shop, the Pannier Market and check what's on at the Wharf. We had driven by on several days but not really cottoned on until we stopped off one Saturday just as it was packing up.... More
