Beautiful England

A wonderful, hidden gem. A lovely cup of tea and proper English scones. Delightful. Well worth a visit.

A beautiful little gem - so much to see. We had a tour around the house - and as it was a quiet day - it was personally for us. FANTASTIC! The staff were VERY knowledgeable and passionate about the house and it's exhibits. A brilliant day.

My family had been stuck in all week due to poor weather. When there was a break in the rain we took the opportunity to visit this amazing private country home. From the drive beneath the arched trees to being challenged by a cow for right of way even the car journey was a noteworthy pleasure. The building itself dates... More

Our first visit to this superb house and garden but I hope it wont be the last. We had an excellent guided tour and then wandered around the extensive garden. It was a beautiful sunny day which obviously helped with the enjoyment of the garden. Then we had a cream tea with clotted cream which was very good. The house... More

Well worth a visit if you're in the area. We got in free with HHA membership, but they are very reasonably priced if you're paying for a ticket The guides for our timed house tour were friendly, informative and entertaining. The varied gardens and grounds deserve a thorough exploration. Nice, reasonably priced tea and cakes in their tea rooms.

Greatcafternoon out, you have the choice of looking just round the gardens which was £5 or house and gardens, we chose to see both. When you arrive they offer you a choice of time slots to visit the house. The guide was informative and told us many tales of the former occupants as this was a family home, which kept... More

Been twice now, once with my husband only when we did the house as well as the garden and on the second occasion we took our daughter and grandchildren who are both aged under 5 and did only the garden. Both visits were very enjoyable. The house is not very big and you can only see inside by timed tours.... More

Godinton House is a really beautiful place - well worth a visit. It is lovingly cared for by a very devoted staff and the guides know what they are talking about. The gardens are also very lovely. The whole place has a wonderful atmosphere.

We were fortunate with the weather - it was a warm sunny day which meant we could explore the gardens in all their glory. Started off in the cafe which serves a limited menu of mainly "tea and cake" - all reasonably priced and the cakes were home made. Tours of the house are by timed ticket and we were... More

This was my second visit this year to Godinton house. We took the house tour, had afternoon tea in the lovely tea rooms which were very reasonably priced and spent a few hours in the amazing gardens. We visited when they had the sculpture in the gardens as it adds to an already beautiful day out. This is easily one... More
