Good venue house and gardens, worth doing the tour of the house, very interesting have done it twice now and just as interesting! The gardens and grounds are well laid out and great for a nice walk round. The walled garden is also I good to visit in summer.

The family fun was half term holiday time. The event was in a small marque in the garden containing arts and craft. it was cramped and not good for small children under 5 years. It was only 14 degrees so sitting doing crafts was chilly. The tea room closed at 4 pm rather early when the event was on till... More

I took my mother here as it is quite local to us. The tour consists of approx. 9 rooms and the lady who took us was very informative, telling us about all the characters who had lived in the house and explaining the amazing wood carving, porcelain etc. She also said that no two tours were the same as there... Although the house was closed when we visited we found the gardens very interesting, particularly the kitchen garden with many varieties that we never normally see.

Immaculate lawns, beautiful gardens and a house crammed full of interesting artifacts - this is one of the best attractions of it's kind. Knowledgeable and friendly guides take you on an hour long tour through many of the rooms in the house with stories about the owners and their huge collection of furniture, paintings, silver and china etc. Even better,... We decided to see just the gardens and were very impressed. They're in a peaceful and rural parkland setting despite being so close to the high-speed rail link and the M20. Many themes are to be seen: topiary, 2 lily ponds (1 man-made and the other more natural), Italian garden and the large walled garden with 3 greenhouses, various plants... More

The house is lovely and because you have a guided tour you do not miss anything. The tour takes about an hour. We had Betty as our tour guide and she was brilliant she really knew her stuff. The gardens are lovely and the tea room is great. They do not serve meals only tea and cake but it is... More

Very impressed, lovely house and gardens and not expensive to visit. Recommended. Tea room is pleasant although we did have to wait 15 minutes for someone to take our order. A lovely place to hang out, if I lived locally I would definitely get a season ticket to the gardens.

This is a very well kept estate with a very beautiful historic house immaculately kept. The guide who took us round (tour was about an hour) was very interesting, pointing out some beautiful porcelain and furniture in the lovely surroundings. The gardens are just wonderful and extensive. There are flower borders, sweeping lawns, an Italian garden and a large and... More
