We had the tour of Godinton House after looking around the lovely gardens and the guides were very informative and interesting. The afternoon was rounded off with the best tea and cake in their pretty tea rooms and the staff were very polite and friendly.

Having lived virtually on the doorstep for a couple of years, we finally got to see this hidden gem of a historic house with fine gardens this weekend. We initially planned to just see the gardens as we weren't aware you could visit the house. However we decided to do both (you can just see the gardens if you wish... More

I first came here in the late eighties and we were shown round by a Mr Wyndham Green, a man who had a passion for this house. sadly he is no longer here but the same passion has been passed on to the staff today. I had forgotten how much there is to see from the wonderful house to the... More

We went as a large group and stayed all day. The welcome was warm and the whole day was really well organised without making you feel herded and stressed. Three groups toured the house in the morning, our guide( group c) was very entertaining and informative. The rooms are gorgeous. After a light lunch we had an hour to wander... More

Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon at this house and garden. Hidden away behind Ashford, it was a real haven of tranquility. The tour of the house took about an hour and was very interesting, plus the gardens are beautiful at this time of the year. The delphiniums were amazing and the walled garden a joy to see. Afternoon tea can... More

What a lovely afternoon we had. Beautiful gardens, well laid out in a nice atmosphere. We had a guided tour of the house and our guide was very informative and told us so much about the house and the family and all the artefacts. She was excellent at her job. We then had a lovely cream tea in the restaurant.... More

The house wasn't open on the day we went, but will definitely return to look inside. We went on beautiful sunny day and the spring daffodils were amazing. I look forward to seeing the wisteria in full bloom and can't wait to see the delphiniums. Lots to see.

A beautifully maintained gardens and fine-looking house. Spring flowers were just appearing but daffodils will be spectacular later in the month. In summer the gardens and parkland beyond must be magnificent.

Living only 2 miles from Godinton House we have been several times, the house inside is very interesting with a lot of history and some really fantastic rooms with great decor. The trip round the house is organised so you get to hear all the relevant points from knowledgeable guides. The gardens are very well kept with a good variety... More
