Lovely gardens & interesting house. Has been skilfully renovated in recent years. Beautiful in Springtime with fields of daffodils. They give lessons too on various gardening subjects thought the year.

Godinton is a comfortable, much-loved home; each room has a different feel, a contrast on a theme, not designed by architect or curator but for the taste and enjoyment of those who lived here over the centuries and now for visitors. Lovely gardens and grounds to wander through. The delphiniums are the best we have ever seen.

This worth going to if you like gardens open at 1 most days the staff can be quite abrupt at times but the tea room is nice but expensive if you have children as well

What a marvellous place! You have to go with a guide in a little group, but the guides are so knowledgeable, and it is the most wonderful house. I wish we could have gone around half a dozen times, there was so much of interest in each room, and so beautifully laid out. Without a doubt Godinton House is worth... More

We visited on the first day of the Delphinium Week, a wonderful display, this garden gets better every time and is a credit to the staff.

A real breath of fresh air a short distance from the hubbub and humdrum of Ashford. Tucked away down leafy lanes less than a 10 minute drive from the town centre is the lovely Godinton House and Gardens. A long driveway through parkland brings you to the house and formal, kitchen and wild gardens. A visit to the gardens and... More

This morning I took 51 passengers for HHA to a private viewing of the house. The reception on arrival, coffee and biscuits and passengers being divided into three groups, each with two guides. The house is stunning, as are the garden (especially the delphiniums in the Walled Garden). It was then time for a sandwich lunch, served quickly and delicious... More

If you are looking for a gentle, and not over long stroll through a very English country house garden with views across Kentish pastures, some well maintained flower beds, shrubbery, statuary, a large walled garden, and peace and tranquility then Godington House Gardens are for you. And there is an excellent cafe serving the quintessential English Cream Teas with yummy... More

A fascinating house that has survived unspoilt from its start as a Mediaeval Great Hall in the 15th century through Tudor and Jacobean additions to Victorian adaptation. Some intriguing oak panelling including The Green Man, musketeers, some erotica (!) and what look like South American Indians. Guided tours only with excellent, knowledgeable guides who obviously love the house and enjoy... More

Visited with an RHS member as a partner garden scheme. Entry after 1pm. Eventually found the little brown sign directions somewhat lacking. Stunning gardens and surrounding parkland with friendly cattle and their newborns. Plenty of quiet corners to sit and reflect. Very pleasant tea rooms. A delight to endulge all of the senses would visit again if in the area.... More
