The gardens and grounds are a kovely mix of natural woodland plants, daffodils, fritillias, wood annenomies and formal yew and box hedged gardens. There is a lovely walled vegetable garden with accessible greenhouses. A real garden of seasons. The house is beautiful. Our tour guide, Betty, was very knowledgeable, spoke clearly and had lots of interesting facts about the family... More

Visited with the other half on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately the house was closed which was a shame as we would've loved to have visited. The garden was lovely but some of the plants were dead due to the time of year. We could tell that it would have been a completely different experience in the summer. We visited the... More

he house, which is unoccupied and owned by a trust is closed in winter. But we walked round the gardens. There were man crocuses including a rather unusual blue one. I got some good photos of a bumble bee taking pollen. In the glass house we talked to some regular visitors who told us that it was ver good to... More

Love to come back again and again. Wonderful little place fullof history and beautiful antiques. Loved the tour through the house given by an elderly gentleman. Really informative, entertaining and amusing. Well worth a visit!

Good venue house and gardens, worth doing the tour of the house, very interesting have done it twice now and just as interesting! The gardens and grounds are well laid out and great for a nice walk round. The walled garden is also I good to visit in summer.

The family fun was half term holiday time. The event was in a small marque in the garden containing arts and craft. it was cramped and not good for small children under 5 years. It was only 14 degrees so sitting doing crafts was chilly. The tea room closed at 4 pm rather early when the event was on till... More

I took my mother here as it is quite local to us. The tour consists of approx. 9 rooms and the lady who took us was very informative, telling us about all the characters who had lived in the house and explaining the amazing wood carving, porcelain etc. She also said that no two tours were the same as there... Although the house was closed when we visited we found the gardens very interesting, particularly the kitchen garden with many varieties that we never normally see.

Immaculate lawns, beautiful gardens and a house crammed full of interesting artifacts - this is one of the best attractions of it's kind. Knowledgeable and friendly guides take you on an hour long tour through many of the rooms in the house with stories about the owners and their huge collection of furniture, paintings, silver and china etc. Even better,...
