Beautiful gardens especially when it hosts the Sculpture Exhibition. There are numerous other events including drama and a delphinium festival held there too. Interesting interior. Refreshments available. The gardens are surrounded by acres of parkland which has some Heritage Trees.

We have visted Godinton House a couple of times before. This year Godinton gives free entry to Friends of Historic Houses Association of which we are members. The interiors are seen by guided tours. All the guides and tea room staff were extremely friendly. The tour was very interesting and the guides knew lots about the history. Various funtiure and... More

We did the house tour & gardens. The guides new lots of information about the history - it was very interesting - they were very friendly & more than happy to answer any questions. The tour was approx 1hr but didn't feel long or boring! The gardens were beautiful - definitely use the map to make sure you don't miss... More

Godinton House is a great place to soak up. The grounds are so nice to walk in. The peace and quiet is palpable. The house is really authentic and unspoiled. Here is a chance to wander in lovely surroundings and breath out. Good opportunity to purchase plants and enjoy some tasty treats to eat. Thoroughly recommend a visit to this... More

We did not get to go into the house on our visit but the gardens were very nice. This was a more formal feeling garden than some others in the area. There was a croquet lawn and another wide lawn that led down to a lake. There was a small rose garden, but it was not in bloom when we... More

Godinton house is an old stately home. well worth a visit to see the gardens and house. Our school uses it too! the staff are amazing and allow us to use it as a setting for our "stunning starters" - like using the house as a setting for writing a ghost story, for pond dipping at the start of science... Very interesting house with guided tour, lovely tea room and gardens that always are changing, not too big to explore and some totally naturalised unspoilt spots to sit. Sculpture exhibits & concerts, an extra bonus. Have also learnt a lot from the gardeners over numerous visits.

Can't believe I've lived here over 20 years and never discovered this gem before! The house is fascinating and the guide who took us round was very good at her job! Even our teenage daughters had to admit their attention never wavered once! We were taken around 11 rooms all of which were quite different with beautiful furniture, paintings, carvings,... More

Beautiful house and stunning gardens. Great events such as Sculpture Week and great to go and see open air theatre here too. Our children have all loved the swing in the tree here.

Visited last weekend using our HHA membership as we happened to be in the area. Our visit consisted of a guided tour of the house with time free to wander the beautiful gardens. The house is only open Fri-Sunday (& BH's) from April to September with tours starting at 1pm. When we went they seemed to be running every half... More
