The museum is relatively small, but free to visit. The upstairs part of the museum gives an excellent history of Banbury and is very well laid out. The downstairs area has celebrity memorobelia - it does not relate back to he town, but rather is a little like someone's personal souvenir collection - that said our young daughter found this... Boat building and canal travel was a staple of Banbury history. This wonderful museum right on the Oxford Canal in Banbury is terrific.

This small museum is good for families and there is always something going on, although upstairs always stays the same about the history of Banbury which gets tedious but is very educational. The museum is never busy but isn't open on Sundays.

The museum for a small market town is very good. We take our children in the holidays as they normaly run spiecial events for them. The exhibition is always changing on the ground floor. But upstairs is a more perminat one about Banbury which is interesting. There is a little cafe that looks out on to the canal for a... More

Take the opportunity to go right to the top as it lays out the towns history from the sixteen hundreds. The walk along the canal is worth a visit

Just a few snippets of Banbury over the years but I perhaps would have preferred more info. It's ok for an hour or a rainy day but not for real historians
