Having left Basildon many years ago a recent visit to Wat Tyler left us very impressed with the changes that have been made over the years and the apparent cohesive approach now being applied to it. lovely country park with adventure play area for the kids. loads of places to sit and enjoy a picnic or just sit and watch the boats go by.

Excellent place for kids, plenty of tracks to walk through woods, playground, train rides. Lovely little cafe and ice cream shop. Can walk down to river and watch boats or let the kids run around and let of steam . Great for picnics!

Wat Tyler is a great place to let the kids run around and let off some steam, the on site cafe offers great value food and the site has something for everyone there is also a mini steam train to take you around the site along with lots of country walks and nature trails

Love it here ! The playgrounds amazing with lots of cool stuff for kids . We did the pond dipping £2 per child ( book in Visitors centre ) and then walked up to the marina part and also found old war pillboxes . Lots of wooded areas for hoed and seek and good outdoors fun . Lots of parking... More

Nice day out for exploring nature, good for pinics and taking children to learn about nature, I recommend it to anybody on a summer day

went with family...playground has a mixture of equipment to cover a wide age range. There is also plenty of open space to kick a ball around and plenty of tarmac paths for walking/cycling. The cafe food is fresh and reasonably priced. We bought 4 toasties and a jacket potato..and all had a drink each..for just shy of £18.00.

Love Wat Tyler Country Park. So much to see and do. Great activities for kids all year around. The Green centre offers educational fun for the kids. Creepy crawlies spiders and scorpions... (Top spring summer favourite is pond dipping) Offers great walks, fab playground which is just being redone for the high season coming. Polite courtasious staff looking after both... More

Took my 8 and 10 year old and met their cousins in the cafe. Very busy as half term but got good food and reasonably priced drinks quite quickly. Cafe good the centre offers lots but it was raining 👎 so the children went to the play area excellent equipment. Would like to return in better weather to explore the... More
