This relatively small museum is well maintained and run by Derbyshire County Council. Every now and then they have a special displays which are worth looking out for. Well worth a visit.
What a little treasure awaits you behind these doors.it was broad reaching, full of interesting artefacts and the overall impression was excellent.the staff who work here do a fabulous job.

we came after Poole caverns as many of the items found within and mentioned in the tour are on display which probably upped the enjoyment had here. nonetheless a real effort has been made to make a small museum interesting. the displays were cleverly put together and allowed you to gain maximum learning/enjoyment from what will certainly be a short... A clean small Museum and they have set about creating a maze of information. Somewhat claustrophobic for us but probably fun for kids.
This needs a major redevelopment, it is outdated and confied to a small space. Very little fun and no intercation from the staff
