As a treat for my husband my son and daughter-in-law took us out for lunch ,we were a little early so we called in this marvelous bookstore, books for everyone no matter what your taste and a wonderful selection for children, a seating area with a coffee and tea machine with china mugs sugar sweeteners & milk lots of teaspoons... We came upon this great bookstore quite by chance a few years ago. As you race along the busy road, its the last place you expect to see a bookshop! And like Oscae Wilde, I can resist anything but temptation! Have lost track the number of times my wife and I have been here when in Derbyshire, but it’s always... More

Huge range of discounted books. Could have spent a fortune. Some fantastic value coffee table books...massively discounted. Also some unusual topics which you would not get in a high street bookstore. Some comfy seats to sit and browse. Limited refreshments available. Perhaps more could have been made of this...if so, we would have stayed all afternoon and probably spent twice... More

Had some trouble finding this place, the directions on the website aren't particularly clear, and we somehow ended up in Bakewell! Once we did find it however, we spent a long time in here. Most discount book shops only sell those chick-lit books which no one reads, however this shop had something for everyone; they had all the Game of... More

This is my favourite book shop. We come here from Chesterfield which is quite a way but it is worth the journey. You can browse books on all subjects, some heavily discounted, and enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee. Just one drawback, I am disabled and cannot stand for long and they used to have a comfy chair... This bookshop has a vast selection of books at knockdown prices. Everything from archeology through to zoology. I could have spent the whole day there browsing. The books are 'end of line' stock, but they can now order in recent publications, but these would of course be more expensive.

Met a friend here prior to going to a funeral. After a quick browse we enjoyed a lovely coffee and a chat in the comfortable seating area. The display of reading material is extremely comprehensive and well laid out. A jewel on the A515 just south of the beautiful spa town of Buxton.

I've been in here many times, but never thought to review it as I don't think of it as an eatery or an "attraction". Having said that you can get hot drinks and sit and read a la Waterstones. It's main attraction is the sheer variety of new and second hand books, CDs & DVDs, set out clearly and spaciously... More

Has atmoshere as well as a great selection of books on all sorts of topics. Some can be a little expensive perhaps? A very popular place as it should be. Staff are helpful. Would really reccomend for stocking-up on holiday reads. Continue up the hill and past the quarry. Added bonus of some of the best views in the Peak... More
