Lovely traditional experience in beautiful building full of atmosphere. The play itself was fantastic the acting and singing totally professional, really gripping performances. The opera House staff were friendly with an appropriate sense of humour which added an extra Human touch to the evening. The bar staff were excellent and the prices reasonable. We had a wonderful time.

Buxton Opera house is beautiful inside. It had been tastefully refurbished and is a pleasure to be inside. There are many wonderful productions to which we are fortunate to have access. Prices for these events though not cheap are considerably less than Manchester theatres. If you use the theatre listing bookings you will find that some if the touring shows... More

The Opera House is easily one the best things about living in Buxton, being a dazzling jewel in a dull and tarnished crown. It truly is a Matcham masterpiece, a very special place to visit, and attracts some very special performers also. As Jim Moray once remarked; "It's like playing inside a Faberge egg".

Saw Michael McIntyre here for my 50th birthday- superb small venue as you can see the stage without having to watch a to screen because what's the point of that you may as well watch on your own TVs in comfort!!! Michael was superb too and had us laughing for the whole time. His warm up act was good too.... More

Love going to comedy here & at the Pavilion Theatre, both are great venues.... Order interval drinks when @ the Pavilion Theatre but go over the road to The Old Club House opposite the Opera House... They also have pre dinner early bird offers @ a few places nearby so worth checking out current offers...

Prompted to write a review because I messed up my dates when I ordered my tickets and ended up missing the performance I was supposed to see. The staff were really reasonable and just sorted the problem for me no hassle and we ended up having a lovely day out. The kids were enchanted by the theatre and the production... More

I went to Buxton Opera house a while ago now to see Jason Manford perform. The Opera house is a magnificent building set in the heart of Buxton. Every seat is a good seat at the opera house and all staff are so friendly. Parking is ample. Can't wait for my next visit.

The buxton opera house is an excellent local resource. It has very good national acts performing there, the seats are comfy and you can normally get to the bar during the interval. The building is quite grand and really adds to a sense of being at an event

We visited the Buxton Opera House today to watch the Jack & the Beanstalk pantomime with 2 adults, a 8 year old and a 3 year old. Brilliant panto - well acted, sang, danced and the scenery, music and lights were great. Absolutely beautiful building. Helpful staff - who went out of their way to direct you to the toilets...
