This was the first time I had been to a concert here but I won't be rushing back. If I want to see a performer and I could see them elsewhere, I will. The theatre is very beautiful and well maintained but the seating is very cramped and I am only 5ft 4in! The women's toilets seem to have never... More

If you have not visited the Buxton Opera House it is well worth a visit. There is entertainment to suit everybody and the auditorium is atmospheric. We had a meal at the Old Hall Hotel opposite before going in to the theatre. It was a very good night out and highly recommended.

We have been to various shows at Buxton over the years even though we live in London, it is a traditional theatre and has been beautifully restored, well worth the trip. We usually include a show in Buxton in our schedule if we are heading north for any reason. There are a wide variety of shows on offer so there's... More

This is a really impressive building. Its part of a Victorian/ Edwardian complex that is really worth taking the time to explore. The ceilings and stairs are worth a good look alone. We enjoyed their production if the Mikado greatly. One draw back is the seating. If you are over six feet tall be prepared to be very cramped ,... More

It's a classic, small European opera house, updated and redesigned to knock your eyes out. The repertory during the summer opera festival is varied and challenging.

For a place as small as Buxton this is a theatre that is up there with the likes of those in London's West End - and they don't have beautiful gardens right outside - and affordable restaurants and hotels in the vicinity.a superb and unspoiled example of Edwardian theatre in a period setting. I love it.
