We have visited Loch of the Lowes on two separate occasions, once in the winter and once in the summer. Winter is a good time to see wintering bird species such as, Goldeneye, as well as Red Squirrels. Summer time brings the Ospreys, Siskins and Greater Spotted Woodpeckers (although these can be seen at any time of year). The visitor... More

We had a lovely visit to the visitor centre today where we met extremely friendly and interesting people and a spectacular variety of birds to watch. Keep up the good work!

The centre is at it's most popular when the ospreys are hear between April and August but personally I always enjoy a visit. The visitor centre has a large window overlooking bird feeders so there are always plenty of small birds (finches, tits etc) to see. Red squirrels are also a regular visitor too. Nice coffee and chocolate is available... More

Called in to Loch of the Lowes recently but didn't go to the Visitors Centre as we had our dog. Went for a walk in the calm and stillness of the area. Met a nice lady (Cheryl) who updated us on the Ospreys. Lots of wildlife to be seen. Free car park and lovely clean area (apart from some cretin... More

We where going to walk from Dunkeld to the loch of the lowes. Glad we drove there first. Nothing there apart from the hide. Seems a lot of money for what's there. This is not dog friendly.

We were pleased to see the three osprey chicks on the nest, one of which flew round the lake. The hide has telescopes to see the birds and a guide to explain what's happening, as well as TV close-up of the osprey nest across the lake.
