A fascinating place! Disabled parking close to reception. 2 low level hides and one upper storey one, telescopes for free use in all. Remember to wrap up warmly, the breeze coming in off the loch is freezing. Back in the main building take time to sit and watch the wildlife feeders. Many types of birds, both on the feeding stations... More

BonnIe spot to visit, fish, photograph, picnic . Classic Perthshire, wooded, green, loch side areas. Given good weather it cannot be missed.

The scenery around the Loch of the Lowes is beautiful and the attraction is obviously the nesting ospreys. We were in luck on our visit as we timed it perfectly to see the female on the nest with her 3 chicks! The centre is very well laid out with a viewing area as you enter, which is perfect for smaller... More

A wonderful, wonderful, place to visit. Lovely staff who welcome you when you arrive. Excellent customer service throughout your visit. A joy to be able to watch the ospreys at close courters and seeing the white deer was an added bonus. If I lived closer I would visit often. There are lovely walks through the woods and many bird watching... More

Although Loch Garten is famous for its nesting ospreys, there is also a nesting pair at Loch of the Lowes, with excellent viewing opportunities. There's also a large number of bird feeders on which to watch an array of finches, sparrows, woodpeckers and the like. Highly recommended, and would be ideal for younger children.

I called at Loch of the Lowes on my way north as I knew that seeing an Osprey at this time of year is pretty much guaranteed and I was not disappointed. In fact the male called in at the nest to deliver a fish and the female was feeding the chicks. Just what I wanted to see and photograph.... More

The best part is the amazing glass walled look-out onto a small bird feeding haven. Constant movement of a variety of small birds and the occasional red squirrel stealing a nut or two

The ranger and staff were very helpful and to be able to sit in quiet hide with the great binoculars a pure joy. We spent at least and hour watching the osprey pair and their chick's, even had a roe deer come down to the loch for a drink a place that all nature lover should visit

Scotland is a stunning part of the world and is full of wildlife etc. if you ask the locals they can tell you how to get to this Loch and see better views etc. with out the price tag that natural Scotland feel they can charge for you to stand in a wooden hut. I would think a small café... More
