tiny sandy spot hidden by the wall so not much wind often packed from dawn to dusk but fab all the same
this sandy beach I grew up on..learned to swim in the sea..had many a picnic and made plenty of sandcastles..i've moved away from Folkestone now but my memories of great times there over fifty years ago are still vivid..there are a few more rocks fell from the cliff but still like a walk amongst the rock pools...just wish there were... One of the few sandy beaches in the SE. South facing and nice view of the white cliffs. Please keep it tidy, people, by picking up dog mess and rubbish!
how did i miss this little treasure of a sandy beach in folkestone, right in the harbour area. i'd always thought folkestone just had pebbly beaches but no tucked away is this delightful sandy beach perfect for when its sunny.
My better half and I have enjoyed a lovely walk in this area, capturing beautiful shots of a sunrise and the interesting views, buildings and people along the way. Highly recommended to put some pink into your cheeks :)
a hidden gem that is perfect for families and days out. you get great photos here when the tide goes out at sunset as the beach lights up golden. Also places to hide from the rain in the little tunnels lining the promenade.
It's Bournemouth x Weymouth beach rolled into a little gem of soft sand, calm sea, not too many people, good parking, 12 mins walk from Folkestone town centre. Fish 'n' Chip shops, pubs, ice cream, seafood stalls, cobbled street, gift shop and toilets! It's worth a visit, promise

Not a pretty beach - remains of industrial docks/wharfs can be seen, and lots of sea glass and rocks in with the sand. no... More

The sea rises and falls about 10 metres every 16 hours or so. Not much room at high tide, and a long walk at low tide. Lovely... More
came across this beach having a stroll. it is in an excellent location with tiolets and snack bars close by. beach is very clean and the arches provide shelter for the young too. when its warm it really is a great place to sunbathe.
