Really nice sandy beach just 55 minutes away from Central London via the HS1 train so perfect when you want to escape from London. Plenty of places to eat in the old town or by the Harbour.

Sunny Sands is a pristine piece of beach and makes a wonderful location for a morning or afternoon stroll. It has the feel of a remote seaside village with the advantage that it's right next to Folkestone's creative quarter. There's plenty of parking nearby, though it is pay-and-display. The beach is part of the local fishing harbour and a number... More

Having lived in Jersey for 3 years I guess we were spoiled for beautiful beaches, and we miss the seaside quite a lot. We now live in Switzerland, so are totally landlocked, so it seemed like a great idea to get some beach time while waiting to cross the Channel. Sadly we had two issues - 1) tide was in... More

We stayed at Sunny Sands Beach for a few hours the beach wasn't crowded, until the tide started coming in.... The kids spent hours playing with a ball in the sea, families were making sandcastle, children were looking for crabs and then the tide started coming in, while before there had only been a few people in the sea, the... Clean and not a long way to walk to the sea. The tide comes right up to the top which is fun. The arches give you some rest from the glare of the sun. Unfortunately the old cafe is now private car parking and the cafe is on the cliff. The cafe has no soul. Bring back the kiosk and... More

Sunny sands is a pretty and inviting small beach, with plenty of nooks and crannies for children to explore. We visit here daily as we only live a short walk away, and our son simply enjoys the beach environment. However, you have to time your visit correctly by 1) checking out the tidal reports and 2) ensuring there are no... More

A lovely sandy beach, the day was bright and sunny, good facilities of toilets and good areas to eat around as well. Our day was well spent.
