At last, some sand as opposed to shingle. The area needs invigorating, and some public money spent on it. Large areas of unused concrete and asphalt are unattractive.

Looks like a nice sandy beach. Since it was rainy & cool, did not venture on to it too far. Nor did anyone else. Made it look a little sad. Toilets were nearby, might be nice if it were indeed sunny. Area around the beach looks bleak.

Quite popular on warm sunny days. Clean beach with good fine sand. Shower and toilet facilities, although slightly away from beach up a number of steps.

What a sad, depressing beach. The only good things were that the toilets still worked and no dogs were allowed on the beach. Although, in fact, fairly clean, the beach with its alcoves at the back gave the impression of being neglected and unsavoury. There were no chairs for hire and nothing to recommend it as a family beach, especially... More

It's the only sandy beach in England that is less than a one hour train ride from London, Large expanse of well compacted sand, ideal for sunbathing and playing with excellent rock pooling for the mrore adventurous, with refreshments close at hand on the Stade

The Sunny Sands beach at Folkestone is a must for sunbathers and swimmers alike. The local Council has made great efforts in making this beach a great place to spend some leasure time. Dogs are banned from this beach from spring to September, which is a great blessing. There is a new cafe very close to the beach area, and... More
