Must go twice to catch high and low tides

What a fabulous beach. So much to see. Marvellous above, disused Second World War buildings scattered hither and thinner. Have they found all the buried gold bars?. Some homage to the old days with local fish markets and cockle Nd whelk stalls. Good for all ages, play fountains for the kids and benches and views for the old. Folkestone is... More

The beach is clean, accessible for dogs too, out of season. A lovely spot. There are nearby restaurants and seafood stall. I'd love to return in Summer

In summer, perhaps the best tourist in Kent - soft sand washed clean by a daily, all-enveloping tide. But in winter, when the tourists are gone and the dogs are allowed back on, it is Heaven for canines and canine lovers. Great views, sharp, enlivening wind, happy dogs, friendly owners and plenty of nearby parking

Sand, sand and more sand! What more could you ask for?! What's also super about this beach, are the nooks the children can play in. The tunnels are great fun, whilst also providing some shelter from either sun, wind and/or rain.

My partner and I went here on the way home from having a fantastic meal at Don Giovanni's in the town. It was around 10.30pm there wasn't a soul around. It was very clean and pretty with all of the lights! One of our favourite places in the evening.

Small beach - soft sand and would be great for kids. If you enjoy long walks on beaches, this is not it.

The only thing wrong with Sunny Sands is the tide coming in. I have known and loved this place all my life,76 years experience so I think I should know.

Really nice sandy beach just 55 minutes away from Central London via the HS1 train so perfect when you want to escape from London. Plenty of places to eat in the old town or by the Harbour.

Sunny Sands is a pristine piece of beach and makes a wonderful location for a morning or afternoon stroll. It has the feel of a remote seaside village with the advantage that it's right next to Folkestone's creative quarter. There's plenty of parking nearby, though it is pay-and-display. The beach is part of the local fishing harbour and a number... More
