An lovely sandy beach which has life guards during the summer season, it is great for kids of all ages, but can get packed in the summer holidays. If you go there check the local tides as at high tide there's is no beach.

We always love visiting Sunny Sands. It's a small sandy beach just beyond Folkestone Harbour and is especially popular with families with small children because of its lovely sand, its small size so it's easy to keep an eye on the kids when they go for a paddle. A lovely beach in the summer but quite small so when the tide is in you are forced to sit in the road (pedestrianized) above. Can get quite busy.

The beach is very close to the shops, pubs and restaurants and is adjacent to Folkestone Harbour. When we were there is was quite busy but it was the hottest day of the year so far. It is the only sandy beach in the Folkestone area, all the rest are shingle.

A short golden beach, never crowded and always somewhere to lay your towel. Don't think the Germans have heard about this one yet

Worth a stroll in nice or nasty weather - the waves come up either side of the walkway, very impressive. Look out for the mermaid.

I've visited this all of my life and found it a good place to take the children when they were learning to walk. It doesn't get packed during the summer season and the further you walk along the sands the less busy it becomes.

Good sandy beach (the only one in Folkestone) but it is a tad small and is rather crowded in nice weather due to lack of space.
