Took our grandson for a day out, just fantastic, really well catered for, a lovely 25min train ride to Shelley, then a nice cup of tea before the " Bouncy Castle" play area & sand pit, we had an open ticket £ 7.00 return to be used all day, so no need to rush about. The staff were fantastic explaining... More

we booked the trip for our grandsons and there friend as a last minute thing, i was unsure on how good it would be due to the low price. It was very organised, and clean and the i have to say far exceeded my expectations. The engines were great and the children loved it as we did, the activities going... More

This has become an annual event for our family. Despite the risky weather for a November day out, suffice it to say that our four under-5s are accompanied every time by 6 adults. No, it's not cheap, but to see the children having so much fun is well worth it. The last few of the family were dragged away almost... More

First time that I have visited the railway. At this time of year not very busy. The Cafe was quite but adequate. Whist waiting for the train to return had a walk around but not a lot to do unless you are very young..... The locomotive shed was open with rolling stock visible but not accessible. The journey was interesting... More

The title says it all-we are going to return and spend more time there. Because of our time constraints we were not able to travel the full length of the line but to a degree this worked in our favour as the wonderful staff 'tailor made' a special journey for us. Because we didn't get to Shelley we can't comment... More

We were given a Trip on a Steam Train as a Christmas present and used it yesterday at this attraction. There were only the two of us so we didn't take advantage of everything on offer - children's playground, gift shop, etc. We enjoyed the ride through woods from West Clayton to Shelley, the beautiful weather being a bonus. There... More

Being one of my local tourist attractions, I try to visit twice a year in different seasons. Today was superb warm sunshine with a strong breeze making wonderful noises through the trees which follow the line. Special 2 week 20.14% fare reduction in honour of Tour de France Grand Depart having been in the area, so only £5.60 for an... More

The other occasions "Thomas the Tank" etc are great fun with much to do as well as the train rides. Well priced and we find value for... More

Took our 3 year old grandson on the Railway, and it was great fun. The ride was longer than expected, which is good, and all the trains looked magnificent. There are nice playgrounds at each end of the track and overall it was a very enjoyable experience. What took the shine off it slightly was the cost; £7/adult, only a... More

Thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed your visit to the railway and made use of our facilities such as the adventure playgrounds. With regards to the price for the visit, we haven't increased our fares since 2010. Also, once you have purchased your tickets, they allow you to have as many trips on the railway as... More

I booked an evening special train for a 90th Birthday celebration attended by 50 people. Tea and coffee were served as guests arrived, the train trip was a great experience enhanced by friendly, accommodating crews, and the buffet supper served on our return was comprehensive and satisfying. All the staff made a real effort to ensure that everyone had an... More
