Firstly there was nothing to dislike about this famous attraction. The whole package was presented to a very high standard. The staff that I spoke to were very friendly and informative. The stations along the 20 miles of track were beautifully maintained with lots of things to see and many flowers helping to enhance one's experience. This is very much... More

Visited last week with a friend. Fantastic railway, we both thought it was without doubt the best heritage railway we've ever been on, and we've been on most of them! Locomotives and rolling stock in great condition and all stations well tended and looked after. All of the staff were approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. Around an hour and 20 minutes... More

This railway is a fantastic trip back in time. Each railway station is lovingly recreated to look like 70 years ago, and each is run by wonderful volunteers whose passion is immense. All the trains, both steam and diesel are very well kept and it was great to see them back in use. I went on a beautiful bank holiday... More

Can't recommend this enough. We were lucky that the sun shone and enhanced the wonderful views. The charming gardens at the stations, the wonderful wild flowers on the embankments and woods, streams and meadow all made the journeys enchanting. From the lovely volunteers to the sweet stations with porters' trolleys loaded with trunks; the ladies at Dunster with the penny... More

Great railway with lots of lovely steam trains, diesels also. Check the timetable as both run. Great for families and even the dog can go. Quite expensive but we used Tesco Rewards works out well. Rover ticket best and can then stop at different stations and rejoin a later train. Free parking at most stations but not Minehead.

Visited this railway in May 2015 whilst on holiday in Burnham on Sea. I planned the trip well in advance by researching the timetables and believe it was worth it. We were able to spend time carefully travelling and enjoying the other facilities also. I printed of two timetable to take with me. We parked our car at Williton which... More

If you want to take a trip back in tlme on a steam train this excursion is for you! we took the journey from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard and back stopping off on our return journey at Watchet. Because of the train timetable we had to spend over two hours in Bishops Lydeard which was too long because there is... More

We took our train-mad toddler for a return trip on the railway and it was really lovely. The railway staff were exceptionally friendly and clearly love what they do. We had a stream engine one way and a diesel on the return trip. Originally we were just going to go and watch the trains at the station, but I'm really... More
