Journeyed the whole line and back, but unfortunately did not have time to visit the restoration areas or the trackside rolling stock. The journey travels through the Somerset countryside with views over the hills and valleys.

Spent 1 day travelling up and down the railway. The stations are lovingly cared for by staff who obviously enjoy their work. We hadn't appreciated how many volunteers are needed to keep it going. The app is also excellent and a must if you have kids. Worth every penny whether you are a railway enthusiast or not. Will show kids... More

just been on WSR for the first time, have to say that I think it must be the best example of a preserved railway in england, everything is how it should be, having been to quite a lot of railways around the country, the WSR is an example of how to do it right, loved it. long live WSR. will... More

we have been wanting to visit this line for some time and did so on Friday 8th of august. The locomotives were in wonderful condition and the sound is great for any steam enthusiast. The scenery en route is great and spectacular. We did two full return trips from Bishops lydeard to Minehead which we felt was good value on... More

Calm, relaxing. Letting the train take the strain. Sitting and relaxing watching the views go by. Getting on and off at station and places you want to visit.

My third trip on this line. This time went to Watchet first and spent a few hours wandering around this pretty place and had a lovely lunch before travelling onto Minehead to get the next train back to Bishops Lyneard and the drive back to Burnham. A lovely relaxing day with beautiful scenery.

We have visited many time, but did not travel on this occasion. It's good to browse the book stalls and gift shops on the platform without any pressure to travel. Maybe next time we will take a trip.

My husband and I have a yearly membership card and frequently go from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead and return. It is a 20 mile trip (40 Return). We go in each of the seasons and there is always something different to see in the countryside. Part rural and part coastal - lovely. Very friendly staff. We also go with the... More
