Nice trip through West Somerset - not sure there's much to do at each stop so we just enjoyed the journey and came straight back. Stations were lovely and staff were just as fabulous.

We had a great day to travel through the glorious countryside. It is a lovely ride. The stations are very pretty with a lot of quaint atmosphere which is all part of the charm. The shops and cafes are good and the staff are very obliging.

My wife loves the nostalgia of steam trains and going to the beach so this covers both. Time your trip for a steam train as they also run a diesel. We took our almost four-year-old granddaughter and it was her first experience of steam and she loved it. Travelling to Minehead meant we could also walk the sandy beach and... More

A great day for Railway buffs and those that enjoy a relaxing day out. The West Somerset Railway route from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard is roughly 20 miles long. As we JUST missed the 10:30 a.m. train we spent the time checking out the sea shore (not quite like Aussie), walked the main street of Minehead checking out the shops... More

Just back home from a day out on WSR. Bishops Lydeard to Dunster then Dunster to Minehead. Had a really lovely day, The train crew and station staff were all so friendly and cheerful it made it a very happy experience. The cafe at Bishops Lydeard was good for a coffee to take on train with you although there is... More

Themed weekend with Thomas and Friends thoroughly enjoyed by our grandson. Rode the steam train a little way along the line - loved it.
