A Must for Downton and Egypt Fans, but also look out for events held here!

We had a lovely walk in the gardens and around the castle and the exhibit was very good.... BUT the staff i found were quite rude in how... More

One of my best days out. The visit was perfect, with brilliant weather. There was plenty to see, ending with a very acceptable meal. It was encouraging to see all the improvements made since my last visit.

I was fortunate to visit the Castle for a private evening event held in early December. The Castle was beautifully decorated and when we walked in, we were greeted by wait staff serving drinks from silver trays. We were able to walk through the rooms and enjoy the marvelous setting. It is just beautiful inside and I had to pinch... More

My sister and I booked a Premiums Tours day trip to Oxford, Bampton, and Highclere Castle. (I was lucky enough to find a time slot open on Expedia.com as all other avenues of ticket selling had sold out by the time we had confirmed our travel plans.) We took a bus from Victoria Bus Station in London. It left on... More

Amazing day, sun was shining and we were having piknic in the garden. The castle was so much more than we expected and only 1 hour with train from London.

1st time I went to Highclere was before Downton Abbey and the experience was very personalised which I feel they have lost with the volumes they now need to get through the house. BUT the house is now in much better order and the facilities are better, staff very friendly and you only have to ask for them to let... More

It was great to walk on the grounds and inside the place we have become so familiar with in the television series. Our biggest criticism for the owners is, sorry, most of the people visiting Highclere are Downton fans, not fans of your family. There were only three references to Downton in the tour through the house, but lots of... More

Went on a visit but didn't go into the house, but will return and go in. They had a charity event when I went so the house was closed but being a big fan of Downtown Abbey I was just excited to look through the windows and enjoy the gardens. I think it was in June when I visited but... More
