We are faithful Downton viewers, and it was so fun to be able to step into the rooms that are so familiar from the program. Hardly anything is laid out differently from the TV set-up, but it was really neat to see which room led on to which room and the whole floor plan. Now we'll be able to picture... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit & would highly recommend. Very good value for money with plenty to see. The house is a warm family home with a lovely atmosphere. Plenty of interesting things to see before you visit the Egyptian exhibition in the cellars. The genuine artefacts are extremely interesting & the Tutankhamen tomb facsimile brings history to life. The gardens... More

We just happened to be in London at the right time to visit Highclere Castle of Downton Abbey fame. We were able to walk through the first and second floors as well as the Egyptian exhibit in the basement. It seemed smaller to us than what we have watched on t.v. Incredible art work in this aging residence. Spectacular grounds,... More

Highclere Castle makes a good day out, specially if you're a fan of Downton Abbey. The inside of the castle is decorated/furnished just like on the Tv series, and it is surrounded by a vast garden, ideal for a walk. Enjoyed a cream tea in one of their cafes at the end of the visit.

Went to Highclere Castle last summer as part of a tour and I loved every minute of it! As a Downton Abbey fan, just walking through this magnificent house was a real treat, and it is great fun now to recognize rooms and settings in the series episodes. The gardens and grounds are so beautiful, well worth a long walk... More

I was fortunate enough to attend a wedding at Highclere and was able to access the home and gardens freely during the event. Words cannot describe the breathtaking beauty and amazing castle. The grounds are spectacular, the interior of the castle almost exactly how it is in the television show "Downton Abbey" . All the staff are amazing and provided... More

Lovely day out! It's not often that you can combine a love of archeology with one of your favorite television programs! As the ancestral home of Lord Carnavon, the chief financial backer of Howard Carter's search for Tut's tomb, there is enough interest to warrant a visit. Very nice Egyptian exhibit. Then, add the thrill of walking down the Downton... More

My partner and some friends visited on Easter Monday and had a great day. The house is lovely but more could be done with the Dowton Abbey connection. The Egyptian exhibit was a very interesting addition and I found it very fascinating. A nice lunch too!

This was the greatest experience of my life. The castle and grounds are magnificent. Just walking up the gravel path transports you back to the splendor of times past. The interior is breathtaking and when descending the stairway from the gallery, if you don't feel regal for a few moments, well then you are not alive.
