The kids will love a peddle around the lake. It is good old family entertainment. Hard work if the kids too small to peddle but otherwise great. There is a pleasant walk in the central island to a Chinese Garden. There is a couple of cafes and a putting green, as well as a pitch and putt. Great place for... More

It's nice to wander through a park, so near the beach. It's a shame the park does not have an overhead path to cross the sections separated by a busy road. The park itself is not formally set out, which is nice, but it lacks signposts, so we felt we must have missed something during our wander. The combat area,... More

Visited park with our children and their bikes, we sat and had coffee while they wore themselves out. While we sat there a mans remote controlled boat/ship sank so we watched for an hour or so as his wife tried to direct him where it had sank (he was in a rowing boat by this time). Very amusing/entertaining hour or... More

I always find this park clean and well kept. You can have a long stroll around the lake, sit and watch the birds or people on the boats have a drink and something to eat in the cafe or sit outside and have an ice cream. There is a pitch and putt and also a warfare attraction on certain days. It's... More

a beautiful park laid out victorian times............... but in a oriental style............. borrowing cues from "willow pattern crockery" the park re-creates a story & is a beautiful place just to sit and while away the hours, or pitch & putt, pedalo's, rowing boats, canoes, etc.

Been here scores of times, many times on the rowing boats Always a lovely show of flowers, especially in the spring with the tulips and wallflowers, famous naval battle (which I am pleased to see still continues) There are charges for the boats and shows, otherwise the park itself is free.

Beautifully stunning park with a Japanese influence. Saw the naval battle whilst we were there, fantastic ! Gardens were well kept and bursting with colourful flowers, a joy to see.
