We always walk down to the beach this way, through the Italian gardens. It is so peaceful and the dogs love it. The floral displays are really nice and there's Mercury the winged messenger in the centre looking dynamic. It would be a nice place to sit and have your picnic and there are litter bins nearby too.

Well hidden off the esplanade, we found the Italian gardens and enjoyed a quiet afternoon stroll the gardens are very well maintained with a golf/ putting green at the top and some stunning views.

Very peaceful gardens ,not flowering yet, but will be really nice when summer comes. Half way down a sloping footpath but not steep.

The council has not kept the gardens as I remember them growing up here. It is such a shame as I have photographs of the Italian Gardens looking sensational. It saddens me as I walk through them and again, at what used to be The South Bay Pool, now a pathetic covered over nothing... I wish I were on the... More

The Italian gardens on South Cliff are tucked away, down a few steps, about halfway down the cliff side and are quite beautiful in the spring and summer time, with the profusion of flowers and flowering shrubs and the water feature in the centre.....but they are also delightful in the winter, or at any time of year, if you want... Took a walk over the spa bridge and then followed the path leading up on to the esplanade just by the famous clock tower is some steps leading into the italian gardens, The gardens are well maintained and is well worth a look if your out for a walk, whilst we were here we were joined by several squirrels.

Honestly, these gardens are the best it's so peaceful and quiet (apart from the birds singing) these are normally quiet apart form the odd few people and the garden/ Forrest paths right next to them are very nice. The scenery is amazing and the atmosphere is the best. If coming to Scarborough I recommend taking the kids, or your partner... More

Lovely walk if you park at the top and walk all the way down to the sea front taking in the gardens on South Cliff as you go. Lovely!
