It is absoulutely worth climbing on the cliff just because of the views which open to different directions: towards to the sea, beaches and the city. There are battle shows during the weekends in August. The one we saw was quiet miniatyrish. Due the show the audio tours were not possible, which was the only minus (and reason to give... More

Lovely place, couldn't spend more than an hour or so there as there's not a massive amount to look around. Amazing views off the cliff tops and over the bays. Fantastic castle remains and some access to what was once the interior of the castle. English Heritage prices so around £6/£7 per adult, slightly cheaper for children, I didn't pay... More

We had the audio tours and found the numbered points a bit haphazard. Very friendly staff. Café a bit untidy with lots of crockery piled on tables. Castle in a stunning setting.

Whilst the castle is distinctly ruinous, there is enough left to make for an interesting audio-guided tour. Perched on a headland, it offers a pleasant walk with views around the bay. There is a pleasant cafe, aside from which there is little cover so avoid if wet. For literature lovers, one of the Bronte sisters is buried in the nearby... More

scarborough castle is well worth a visit. Staying in the old town we walked our dogs on the footpaths around the outside of the castle at dusk. We saw fox cubs playing under a lamp one night and had close encounters most nights with Tawny Owls, a real treat for wildlife watchers !
