My family and I ventured up to the castle to have a quick look around. Sadly, the staff member who was standing outside completely put me off! His first words as he pounced on me and my family were "since as you have so many kids you'd be better off signing up for the membership for just £86 for the... More

Great views and an excellent sense of how long this site has been used by humans. The information on the site could be provided in more detail to improve the experience.

Nice place, lots of history but would definitely recommend the tour to get the most out of your visit. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Had a great time in the Scarborough Castle. Not expensive to go in to can park outside so long as you have a parking card available at the reception of the castle. Also pick up the free audio cassette which is great fun and very informative. Well worth the money.

We really enjoyed our morning exploring the ruins and the free audio guide was really informative. The ruins cover a vast headland between Scarborough's two bays and the coastal views are spectacular. Only one tower remains partially intact due to wartime bombing raids but there are still plenty of ruins to explore and large lawns for children to let off... More

We travelled to Scarborough to see the castle and were not disappointed! The ruins are located on a promontory that offers stunning views of the Yorkshire coast, and obviously made it a prime spot for defense through the ages. The Romans had a lookout post here and it has been in use since that time. As a bonus we found... More

Visited the castle as part of a group away for the weekend, a couple of the party were very excited about visiting the castle and I was pleasantly surprised on arrival, the castle is sold as ruins and that it is but does have certain partially in-tacked buildings that can be climbed and allow you to see the amazing views.there...
