We just found the path up from North Beach and then it takes you to the castle or in to town. Lovely views from both side and the Castle is well worth a visit but you have to pay.

The most beautiful views! The ruined castle is a great excursion. We did the audio tour for the history, but thought the views were breathtaking! We spent a couple of hours there, and had a nice tea at the on site cafe. We also had beautiful weather in December. One of the best places we visited for the sheer beauty.

Pride of place on the hill top overlooking both bays , mostly in ruins , yet a enjoyable walk around on the outskirts .

Visited with our children. It was interesting&fun. The views were amazing.Reasonable entry fees.Would suggest using the audio tour, they do separate audio tours for children-I would give your child one each if possible to prevent arguments.

On a road trip around the North East and North West coastline this was a highlight worth visiting if you have an interest in history - the panoramas from the castle were worth the visit on their own.

Scarborough Castle stands high above the town on an outcrop of rock with cliffs on three sides. Ideal place for a Castle , the Romans thought so too, within this medieval Castle is a Roman grave, and lookout point. The Castle is mainly in ruins, but several sections have been renovated to make a museum which is small but tells... More

Having often visited Scarborough Castle, run by English Heritage, I thought that a visit on the centenary day of Scarborough's World War One Bombardment was in order. The staff were very warm and welcoming, and given it was free to enter for the special occasion, I thought this was a great gesture by English Heritage. I arrived in time for... More
