Loved my time at the castle ruins. Well worth the walk up from the beach, but steep steps mean you are glad to reach the top. Limited exhibition, but exploring the keep, Roman remains and walls keep you fully entertained.

I had a great time at Scarborough Castle. The Keep can be seen from the town below and for miles. Its interesting and the views are fantastic of both the town and the sea. There is a free audio guide which was very informative about the history of the castle. There are some steps to climb as part of the... More

Not a bad place to visit, plenty of history to read and look at. Views are the best, can see over both bays. Kids loved the open space and the wife loved the free wine tasting event that was on.

Very interesting visit to the castle, it is an English heritage site, so not a complete castle, but very good information, you can have a audio tour if you wish, we opted for a guided tour or you can just wander at your leisure. the site is vast, and very windy! but you are on a headland, the guide had... Didn't seem like much to do but turned out to be a lovely walk around the remains and the grounds with some amazing views over Scarborough north & south which were worth the money. Would go again but next time take a picnic.

If you enjoy history you will love a trip to Scarborough Castle. Not much left of the Castle but really enjoyed walking around the ruins and the grounds. The audio equipment is a must although there is a guided tour on offer also. Under £6.00 entry fee and there is also Tea Rooms, Souvenir shop, Exhibition and Toilets on site

Really well presented semi-ruinous castle going back (I think) to Norman times. Informative signage, nice little shop and a warm welcome from the chap at the ticket office/shop. Sadly half of the castle's keep was - ahem - damaged a few centuries ago. What remains is well worth seeing. However, it is the panoramic vistas seen from the castle's walls... More
