A traditional castle, just great for children! If you want to make an outing of it then walk up form the town, and you'll realise what an effort it would have been to take the castle from the defenders back in the Middle Ages! You need to be quite energetic to make the most of the site. There are great... More

We were there on a beautifully sunny winter's day. We decided to take the tour with Elliott the tour Guide, we were so glad we did. He brought the castle and the history of the castle to life for us. Although I have visited Scarborough for about 40 years this was my first trip up to the castle, we will... More

Always make a point of going to a castle when we go away, if there is one to visit. This one did not disappoint. £5.00 entry fee well worth it. I really like the audio tours English Heritage provide. The site gives great views of South and North Bay. Would be great for a picnic on a warm sunny day.... More

An amazing part of British history! Stunning views all around the castle, with free guided tours giving the history of Scarborough Castle. Worth a visit just for the view, even if you have no interest in history

Visited here with my partner and 7 year old, we had a child's audio tour and adult ones for the grown ups. My daughter loved it, and also the quiz to complete, so she was happy and occupied. Had a coffee in the cafe. Did wine tasting in the shop! Enjoyed it so much that we decided to become members... More

Not satisfied with seeing it from a distance we decided to go straight to the top. Great exercise and a must for anyone that doesn't suffer from vertigo. For those not so keen on the walking it looks just as satisfying from the bottom
