Had been years before and child was a little too young to remember so was great to revisit. Got off at scalby mills and had an ice cream and a game of minature golf. The sea life centre is at this location. Had a nice little trip back. The train was full of happy children enjoying the train ride, lovely... More

i somehow thought it would be a longer ride than it was but i enjoyed the trip , £3.70 return which i didn't mind paying to keep this bit of history on track . nice guard that talked to us on the return and i noticed the driver did wave to the kiddies walking on the path .

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. All profits go back into keeping the railway running, and as you say, keep a bit of history. Thank you for your visit, hope to see you again soon! More

We went on the railway twice whilst visiting Scarborough, it was around £13 for a family of 4. You can get off the train at Scalby Mills where there is the Sea Life Centre, beach and Mini Golf. We stayed on the train and went back. The guard on the train was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable. I think his... More

A fun little railway going from North Bay area, next to a carpark (excellent point that), and ending about 10 minutes away at the sea life centre. Nothing special, not to be compared with the proper preserved lines but nice as part of a day out. However, when they say it has steam engines, it doesn't. They look like steam... More

Thank you for a good four star review. I am happy to read you found our attraction fun, which is our biggest aim! You are correct when stating that we are not to be compared with proper preserved lines, in fact what we run is generally much older. For this reason we do feel we are special, as one of... More

Loved by our son, who is trains mad. The thing that made this attraction was the staff, who were friendly, helpful and interested in making the kids feel welcome. Railway was well presented, maintained and offered a traditional option aside from more overpriced attractions. Use it for a trip between the different beaches. Chat to the guard and driver! Enjoy... Took the trip out to Scalby with my 7 year old. Loved it. Better now with the Sea Life Centre at the end. Ate in the Scalby Mills Inn which was excellent. Recommend for a family trip which isn't expensive or takes too long.
