We took the train as part of a family trip. The carriage was an open carriage so we were exposed to the elements and on the day we went the weather wasn't the best. However the train staff were friendly and the views along the way more than made up for the weather which could be helped. There is room... More

I decided to take the train from the Scalby Mills station to Peasholm Park station and although I appreciate they need to charge to help maintain the railway, I thought the price was a little steep for the short journey. Children just love the ride on the train and it is a popular attraction. I enjoyed seeing the backstage area... More

Decided to use ther railway to travel from sea life centre into Scarborough. Trains are very regular and a lovely picturesque trip along the railway. Very reasonably priced too.

This is a really good family attraction as all ages can enjoy this trip around the bay. Reasonably priced and lots to do while you ate there as there is gift shop and shops. Also a cafe and kids ariel play equipment (not too high). Space for you to take a picnic.

I used this little railway with my 5 year old daughter to get from the Sea Life sanctuary to Peaseholm park. The ticket lady was particulary lovely and really helpful. as was the guard on the train. It is so nice to experience such brilliant customer service . The ride itself was also really pleasant and was the highlight of... More

We used this railway line between Peasholm park (it's located just inside the outdoor theatre entrance) to the sea life Centre and we both thoroughly enjoyed it- bring in our late 20s we felt like big kids again! The cost is £3.50 return for adults.

Last minute decision to get the train along North Bay for our visit to the Sealife Sanctuary with two young children. Lovely, lots to see on the journey. We only travelled one way and walked back along the beach.

The North Bay Railway has been going for many years. We visited with grandchildren, and they enjoyed the short but scenic ride. Cheaper to get a return ticket but the walk back along the seafront is enjoyable.

2 nice old diesel powered mock 'pacific' style locos which look fairly authentic haul you just over 1km to Scalby (check out the pub when you get there). The engines face the right way and there is a turntable at the Scalby end of the line. Not exoensive.
