Ballater is my favourite place in the world and the golf course and views magnificent. However, the dining experience was incredibly disappointing. The advance reservation was noted under the wrong time, the promised table not given and the food very poor. Staff bustling around preparing tables for the next day's service. As paying guests we should not have to ask... More

Had my first game of golf here for many years and thoroughly enjoyed it. Course is very well looked after and can't be faulted. My wife met me afterwards for breakfast in the clubhouse which is where the problem lies. We were quite directly told 'coffees out the machine' before being served food. Food was ok. However a young family... More

Ate here twice on our recent camping trip to Ballater. The food is lovely and excellent value for money. Staff were really helpful and accommodating when it came to our children's choices, preparing very generous 'half' portions of dishes they fancied on the adult menu. Would thoroughly recommend eating here.

Walkers were granted access to dine at the beautifully located Golf club. We were warmly welcomed to the club by an excellent barman and made to feel at home. Seated at a table with views over a sunlit course with mountains in the ground. The menu had 3/4 options for starter main and pudding - the only problem being making... More

We ate here twice during our stay, & had several coffees before & after our rounds. Whether crowded or quiet, the service was always prompt. The food menu was traditional golf club fayre, with a special each day. Our meals were always well prepared & piping hot with really nice meat or fish. The ladies serving in the restaurant were very... More

First visit to this golf club and I am sure that it want be the last. The welcome, the choices on offer from the menu, the quality, the reasonable prices and the service were all first class. The views of the course and the surrounding vista while enjoying our meal all added to make a great visit. With high quality... More

We played this course 6 times in 7 days during Royal Deeside Golf week. Its a great course matched with a great welcome in the clubhouse. The format was varied with mixed and mens/womens competitions and a Texas Scramble. All was brilliantly and smoothly organised. You could never tire of playing the course which is in a spectacular setting near... More

Great golf course and very enjoyable round. We had to rent clubs however and the ones provided us were so old and outdated it was hard to play.

Ballater Golf Club borders picturesque River Dee with snow capped mountains in the distance. Excellent condition, a credit to their green keepers. Always a friendly welcome from the pro and bar staff but the food was not as good as on previous visits so I guess their may have been changes in that area, possibly franchising.
