This was a small little artifact in the city to see an old train used by royaly. Tour lasted about 10 min. Something to see.

The Old Royal Station was well sign posted. Small car park which I should imagine soon fills up quickly in the summer. We had a very enjoyable lunch in the restaurant - not the cheapest but food was very good quality and staff very pleasant. We then had a look at the exhibition on the station platform which is not... Five of us rolled up for lunch and we were quickly seated. A couple of us had been here before, but it was a first time for two of our out of town friends. One had Cullen Skink, two of us had Prawn and Avocado salads my wife had a Crocque Monsieur and her friend had the Salt and Pepper... More

The station includes a very good museum/exhibition covering Queen Victoria's travels on Deeside, mainly by train, as well as other monarchs over the years the railway was open. An excellent £2's worth!

What an amazing job they have done in transforming this very historic railway station into a mini museum that captures how it would have been in its hayday. The figures are very realistic and set up in very interesting displays. Lots of interesting facts about Ballater, Victoria and Albert, visits to Balmoral, etc. If you love things Royal or Victorian... More

The old royal station is interesting to visit and retains many original features from Victorian times. For a mere £2 you can tour the (small) museum which is complete with much original memorabilia, detailed information, an original Royal railway carriage, and a fully laid out waiting room from the reign of Queen Victoria. Compact, yes, but still worth a visit.

An interesting insight into the beautiful old station buildings. Lots of Victoria and Albert history, it's a shame the line was closed. The are a few kids activities inside and interactive displays.

We called in for brunch after a long invigorating walk and shared a portion of chips a and Salt and Pepper Squid. Sadly the squid was dry overcooked and very rubbery. The place itself is great for coffee and the service was good. However, for the price and quality of our meal it will be a long time before we... More
