Good for a relaxing stroll as the path round the lake is flat so suitable for wheelchairs/pushchairs. There are a couple of paths away from the tarn to explore; one has a very nice view. The cafe is a bit of a let down as it is expensive and the food is very average, so take your own picnic. It... More

Found this place when we moved to Carlisle. A lovely peaceful walk round a large lake.boy it was cold but worth it.cafe available but EXPENSIVE.good sized carpark which was free when we went.wouldn't rush back though because many places I've found do more for me.having said that,I did enjoy it.

Nice walk around the tarn not at all strenuous so great if you have very young children also woodland for them to explore. You can hire boats for a reasonable price or go open water swimming. I don't know what the cafe is like as we always take a picnic but it always seems busy so I take that as... More

A lovely park, good value row boats if thats your thing. Nice easy walk around the lake, and a good little cafe. Small play park for the little ones. £2 for a days parking so a cheap day out with the kids if the weather is nice.

This is a lovely place for a walk and you can go all round the tarn very easily-some people were evidently doing it twice as we met them twice! It's a shame though that the tea-rooms close so early in the afternoon as I would imagine a lot of people would like to visit in the late afternoon.

This is a good walk -and not too long, all the way round the tarn and then a cup of tea if the tea rooms are still open!

Very nice for a walk with freinds, children or the dog. Nice and quiet has a smalk play area tio let the kids run around on. Also a small cafe where you can grab a bite to eat or a coffee.

Picturesque scenery, lovely walk, always enjoy taking the dogs to the tarn. So pretty and always kept in clean and tidy condition. Highly recommended for a walk and trip out!
