Lovely place for a relaxing walk

Main walk around the tarn is flat so not strenuous. Good for dog walking as enclosed. Nice cafe - dogs are allowed.

Lovely morning out on the lake. The car park was priced at £1 for an hour and £2 all day. We hired a rowing boat at a cost of £10 for the hour, walked the circuit around the lake and had a reasonably priced coffee on the veranda which sold light lunches.

Lovely, peaceful tarn with wooded areas, ideal for walking the dog. At certain times of year dogs must be kept on leads when waterbirds are nesting. There's a snack bar and public toilets. Plenty of parking spaces.

Very scenic but other than the water activities there is not a great deal there to entertain children. One very small play area aimed at under fives. Nice little café and a lovely walk around the tarn. If you want a short walk with your dog in stunning surroundings then its great. Keeping kids entertained for more than an hour... More

Visited recently. Nice cafe. Lovely little bit of woods decorated with knitted animals and flowers. My girls loved it. We hired a boat on the lake. Had delicious ice cream in the cafe and the kids loved the roller ball on the water.

A beautiful day out by the lake with the family. Walked the way around the lake, feeding the ducks, finishing with icecreams, coffee & a play in the kids playground.

Talkin Tarn is beautiful, a circular walk of 1.3miles it's perfect for young kids and the excellent path means they can ride their bikes/scooters and it's easy for push chairs and wheelchairs too. The toilets are nice. The only things that let it down are the attitude of some of the cafe staff since they have added extra seating outside... More

Talkin Tarn is a wonderful country park. It is a tranquil haven. Great facilities and the Tearoom's homemade food is delicious. No matter when you visit, the views are breathtaking. Well worth a visit!
