Lovely peaceful lake with a good flat path round having a tea room, ice-cream shop and toilets. Take your camera for scenic and wildlife shots. Rowing boats are for hire and launching facilities for your sailing boat. Fishing is available in season. Very popular with dog walkers.

Talkin Tarn as in the name is a lake where you can sail on and also it's a luvly place to walk round the perimeter which is just over a Mile. It's open land and in parts wooded. Small tearoom on site and clean Toilet Block. This is a recommended place to visit if holidaying in and around the Carlisle... More

Visited for first time yesterday, beautiful place although wasn't too impressed with the tea room, the food was ok, the 'large' hot chocolate was a small one, wouldn't like to see what the small one was like, probably need a magnifying glass to find it. Would recommend taking a picnic with you!!!

Good hard path round tarn, suitable for lots of users. Does get busy at weekends, and bank holidays. Dog friendly. Walk into the woodland for chance to spot red squirrels. Tearoom with outdoor seating. Pay n display carpark

Talkin Tarn is just a few minutes from a main road, parking does have a small charge. The Tarn is under a mile for a circular walking route around. Enjoyed by old and young, can walk, bike, scooter and enjoy. It is a pretty flat walk so good for those with mobility problems. very popular with dog walkers, families, runners.... More

Talkin Tarn is such a lovely place to walk around. I would recommend taking a picnic or going into the village for food as the tea room is terrible, especially the upstairs. The lady manager with the blonde hair is so lacking in customer service skills its a joke. She left us standing for 15 minutes before coming over to... More

Parking fee not welcome! The walk is as good as ever; feed the ducks, and use the café... has a lot more potential for a wide range of activities

Talkin tarn is a beautiful place, been coming here for years, my four year old son loves the place too he is always asking to come here. Amazing views of the country side all round. The only bad part is the parking charges but if you don't want to pay just drive to the next turn off and park on... More

This is one of my favourite places for a walk in any season. The takeaway and gift shop are fine but the upstairs coffee shop leaves a lot to be desired...it could be beautiful with the right people running it!
