Walk in the Park

Great place to walk and people are very friendly. Nice to end up with tea and a scone or even lunch. The only cost is car parking which is worth it.

The Tarn is worth a visit if the weather is fine, you are able to walk all the way around and if you need to stop there are lots of benches to rest. You will meet dog walkers, people with child buggies and even disable trolley walkers. After the walk the tearooms are a good reward. The car park is a... More

This tarn is found just outside Brampton, north Cumbria. Car park (£2 all day ticket). A leisurely walk around tarn will take about 40 minutes. Great for children and dog walking. Canoes / boats for hire. Ducks and swans to feed !! Could spend most of the day here - wonderful !!!

Talkin Tarn is one of our family favourites, it's a lovely walk regardless of the weather! We regularly talk walks round the Tarn, there is also a lovely tea room and souvenir shop. And for the adults and older children during the summer months you can hire out a boat!

What a beautiful place. A flst gentle easy 1.3 mile walk around the tarn with swans waders and ducks. The cafe is lovely. Row boats are on offer. Fishing was going on and to finish it off a lovely exhibition by a local photographer. Ideal for young and old alike.

This is a jewel. Walking round is easy but watch out for those inconsiderate dog owners who think it's a dogs' toilet. I do not blame the park managers, which is why I have still given the Tarn 5 stars. The cafe is much improved and I believe the parking charges are fair as they contribute towards the upkeep of... This is a great little place, off the beaten track near Brampton, Carlisle. There is plenty of parking space and costs are very reasonable. The paths around the Tarn are good and wheelchair friendly, there is plenty to see with the wildlife or you could hire a boat. There is a great cafe with plenty of choice whether it is... More
