Read so many disconcerting comments on this country park, but once again you need to go and experience the ambience here (of course the weather helps)! Quite a few responsible dog owners. Lovely to see children enjoying themselves (just like me)!! Migmog

My family (parents.daughter ,grandson and grand-daughter ) had a lovely day out walking around the tarn. There was a very interesting exhibition of photographs with cards, calendars and pictures in the boathouse. We did not purchase anything from the cafe but it seemed very busy. There was plenty of space for the granchildren to gallop about and burn off energy (safely)... More

A lovely lake park, that has a nice cafe and other facilities. Pretty much unspoilt and well maintained throughout and all around. The walk around the tarn is roughly 1.3 miles, but seems less. There are occasionally sailing and rowing events which can get busy. The car park is very reasonable, however there are still folk that refuse to pay...... More

There were 8 of us in the group aged from 11 - 79 years old as a birthday treat for our son. It was brilliant! The guides on each activity were fab we could have stayed longer on each one. we started at... More

Short walk round the lake with lovely tea shop. The lake is beautiful and great for dog walking with friends. Car parking facilities are excellent with pay and display which is fairly typical wherever you go these days. Well worth a visit.

I remember coming here as a boy (a thousand years ago) before it was developed into an attraction. It was then a simple Cumbrian tarn used mainly by occasional swimmers and a small boating club. We once got up to a little mischief with the property of the said boating club and were physically chastised by the huge local constable... More

Good Place to walk with suitable accessible paths, a little too busy for us and our dogs. Lots to do for families and on the water for water sports.

We enjoyed a lovely day at Talkin Tarn Country Park. Lovely location for a nice walk with the dog. Excellent views around the water, we were lucky to see the two Swans and their 4 Cygnets simply superb. Enjoyed a nice ice cream in the sunshine after our walk. Plenty of parking and this location is Motorhome friendly.
