It's lovely at this Tarn, approximately one mile round it. Sheep roam in parts so the dogs must be on leads in those areas. There is canoes to rent, picnic area. Amenities and a lovely Cafe, nice cuppa after your walk. A shop too. Worth a visit if you like to walk.

Excellent spot for a whole range of people, there is a small cafe and shop, toilets and changing facilities and a boat hire, and also a small enclosed play area. Great for couples, families or friends to run, jog or just take a gentle stroll around the lake. For the more adventurous there are wooded walks and a boat hire,... More

This is quite a magical place, a small and lovely glacial lake with a path for comfortable circumambulation. There are facilities of rowing, sailing and other water sports. The tearoom serves great fresh food, hot-cold beverages, ice-cream and many gift items. This is indeed a all-weather park for people of all ages. The parking areas are convenient. The boat house... on the weekday we visited it was quiet and calm, the name comes from the sound of the water on the shore. Nice place for a picnic. Easy to find too, well signed.

A gentle walk for friends, families, suitable for disabled people and dog friendly. Feed the ducks or hire a rowing boat, followed by a welcome lunch or afternoon tea in the warm welcoming cafe. Children's play area, gift shop and there are loads of activities available throughout the year. Parking is good but must be paid for. Easy to find... More

Visited Talkin Tarn on 15 June 2015. We were fortunate enough to have a lovely day and walked all around the Tarn some 1.3 miles. One reason for our visit was the Woollen woodlands art exhibition which we found fascinating. The café and visitors centre are really nice and you can even hire boats if you feel adventurous and fancy... More

A picturesque setting and a circular walk around the tarn is just what one needs to wind down. The woodland that surrounds the tarn hosts much wildlife and a variety of birds. The paths are finished nicely and allows wheelchair access all the way around without problem. Then, after a good stroll you can have an ice cream or a... More

We went early evening, but this country park has a great feel to it, with fantastic views, and in the daytime I am sure it is very busy. In the evening it is excellent for early evening strolls within this beautiful setting, we will be back for a visit at some stage, when the café is open!
