Me and my girlfriend hired a kayak and went for 2 hours on the lake on Wednesday. Lovely place, nice and polite staff. After we finished with the kayak, we went to the cafe. They made us a great tasting coffee. We had also soup. The home made chicken soup was the best I have tried in Keswick. The scones... More

For about £7.95 there was a meal deal, home-made soup, a drink and a scone with jam and cream. The mushroom soup was delicious, the drink piping hot and the scone was about... More

Great soup deal with soup and bread, scone, jam and cream and a hot drink for £8! Bargain, and you get to look over the lake as well.

The views of skiddaw across the lake were stunning, however, we were recommended the cafe here as a decent lunch stop as the cakes were reputedly amazing. Unfortunately the cakes had been left uncovered meaning they were crawling with flies. This made us lose our appetites so we settled for baguettes instead which were fairly disappointing. If you're just after... More

If, like Kenneth Grahame, you are a believer that there is: 'Absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Simply messing', then you will love this absolutely gorgeous Lake District gem. Tucked away on the North-West corner of Derwentwater, a leafy lane draws you down to the lakeside where the shore is devoted to... More

Called in mid january for a legendary scone and coffee. A Sad and dejected looking man eventually got up and served us. There where no fresh scones but he offered to microwave 2 cheese scones which we now regret agreeing to. Despite our drinks being complimentary (beverage vouchers courtesy of our guest house) I never the less expected my coffee... More
