I visited here by chance, walking Hadrian;s Wall and stopping to explore Carlisle. The Roman display is outstanding but I was also taken by the Carlisle history display. Two hours easily slpped by. Staff friendly and accommodating. I was able to stow my backpack while I visited.

A most interesting museum and gallery with very good restaurant and meeting rooms, and centrally located.

We only had an hour to look round this museum - so took in as much as possible in that time. What we saw was quite impressive - lots to interest young children. Galleries well laid out. Pity that they feel the need to charge an entrance fee - but that's to be expected now in the UK.

Visited Tullie House in August, it has been a regular visit for years with my young daughter. As a regular visitor of museums and art galleries, I failed to see the point of the Richard Slee exhibition. Porcelain Art? I dont think so. More a cobbled up mix of poor ideas, presumably presented as todays version of 'Modern Art'. It... More

Often come to Tullie house as my daughter really loves the exhibitions. The mechanical circus was really fab and we spent a while in there and appreciated every piece and the born to be wild current exhibition is fab! Our last visit was for the Tudor day where there was lots to do and a very interactive day with games,... More

Lots to see in the permanent exhibition and there are always special displays to keep it fresh. Good for all ages and free for locals.

Great value destination for all ages in the heart of Carlisle, a real bargain, gift aid your entry fee and you get to go back as many times as you want over the next 12 months. A wide variety of exhibition pieces entered around Carlisle's Roman history. The displays are well set out and the storyboards easy to follow. We... More

Very interesting museum with good displays especially the section on the Roman occupation. Spoilt slightly by children whose parents had no control over their behaviour.

We were recommended to try the cafe for lunch. It's a nice light and airy place to eat with a few things for the children at the back. The menu choice was good and the majority of it seemed homemade. The children's pizzas were well cooked and so quite crunchy and my lasagna was very tasty but had obviously been... More

A very varied and wide-ranging museum about the history of Carlisle. The Roman Britain section is very well done.
