We were visiting Carlisle for a day out with children and stumbled across Tullie House. As we had travelled to Carlisle via Northern Rail, we found out they are part of the two for 1 scheme when you show your rail tickets and kids were free anyway, so only paid just over £7 for 2 adults and 3 children. The... More

Took family and friends there over Easter, kids are free, adults have to pay. It was lovely. Very informative and ideally located near to the castle and the Cursing Stone. Kids loved it. It also has a huge cafe that does great coffee and cakes. Whats not to like?

Myself and my fiancé have been here a few times, especially since paying for a locals card and getting free admission. The gardens are lovely in Summer and the attractions are of good quality and relevance to the local area. Cafe is expensive and nothing outstanding quality wise, much better cafes in the local area after a look around the... More

Surprising how many aspects there are to Carlisle's history; good reminders of the cranes, biscuits, Romans, railways and so much more. You need more time than you think to take it all in! The route through the museum was unclear, and just one 'guide' was on hand nicely to fill in some detail on some items. A 'must' for all... More

It is a bright well laid down out museum, good for both adults and children. It has a strong local focus describing the history of the area well.

We have been lunching at Tullie House for 20+ years and have never found a fault before now - hence the average overall rating! Being Coeliac, the staff have always been as helpful as possible - even when they didn't quite understand the condition they always went out of their way to get me something from the kitchen that I... Dear Visitor, Thank you for you comments. Owing to the adverse colder weather, we have recently temporarily removed the salad bar and replaced it with afternoon tea treats. We have maintained the choice of salads on offer as before, with the Tullie House Salad Bowl available direct from the kitchen. As in the past we are very obliging by altering... More
