A site of national importance, this Victorian Park contains evidence of 2000 years of history and is a landscape moulded by the people of Colchester over many eras.Castle Park not only encompasses much of Colchester's rich heritage within its boundaries but is much loved and used as a part of present day life. It boasts over 1 million visitors a year. Providing a green oasis in the town centre, you can sit, walk, enjoy music, play games, or picnic amongst wonderful flowers and trees. Its horticulture is award-winning and the park has long been a superb venue for the town's big events. The park itself is designated Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England.

nice and clean

Nice , clean park. Better for the youngest in your family. Good space for activities and wow what a hill for rolling down. Squirrels are extra friendly

A great park in Colchester with lots going on. Festivals, a Norman keep, Hollytrees museum, cricket and boating to name a few. And a fab new playpark for the kids.

A warming spring day do went to the park for a walk. Never been before and it was very pleasant and clean. Nice to see the trees budding into life and the play area looked fab.

This park got something for everyone. The flowers are amazing and they change depending of season. My 7 year old daughter love this park, especially the playground! There are often activities in the park like the Scottish festival in June etc. There is also a nice café who serves light meals to a good price! There are two museums in... More

The garden was well kept, the park was full of squirrels, the pond was full of beautiful fish, a school trip of students were sketching the castle and toddler and parents were... More

Castle Park Colchester is nice and peaceful. The grounds are well kept and are very scenic. In the Castle there is so much history and interesting things to do and look at. The tours are great too especially for kids. The grounds are perfect for a picnic! It makes a nice, cheap day out.
