Castle Park is quite rightly the Jewel in the crown of Colchester! I'd recommend it for all visitors and families, there is just so much to do... fish pond, boating lake, gardens, Roman history, riverside walks, bowls green, play parks, band stand... its perfect in the summer to get away from the bustle of the city centre. Colchester is in... More

Apart from it being an award winning park there is an opportunity to visit a Castle and a Museum within the gates. There are wide open spaces, formal planted areas and children's play equipment. It is worth bringing a picnic lunch as the refreshments and food available are quite limited and there can be long queues. This is no hardship... More

We've often been to Colchester Castle Park, and we've always enjoyed the fresh ait, the gentle walk up over the hill towards the castle at the top, and the grandchildren love the brilliant children's playground areas. There are a couple of places where a good range of refreshments are available, and of course the floral decorations are absolutely stunning! This... More

Visited the park with my 3 children and had a great time in the play area for a couple of hours. It has one of the largest selections of equipment I have seen in a free play area, suitable for all ages and abilities. It is well kept and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
