This was my first visit to The Studio at The Mercury. Starring the wonderful Christine Absalom (whose name heavily influenced us to attend) and a very impressive Tim Freeman the space made this production a very intimate and extraordinarily moving evening. Compared to the, similarly-sized, Headgate Theatre the space is not as elegant, comfortable or as well-appointed. Nor is the... More

Lovely theatre which I have visited lots of times. Comfortable seating and a friendly and homely atmosphere probably due to the fact that it is not overly big. Parking inexpensive and very close by. Have some great productions here every year. Highly recommend this venue

We always enjoy the productions at the Mercury and visit regularly as a family, as a couple or as part of a home education group. We have attended musical concerts, ballets, plays and performances aimed at families. The behind the scenes tour is informative and fun. What I'm not so keen on is the lack of air conditioning or even... More

An amusing if somewhat touching account of how a parent tries to deal with their child being diagnosed as having autism. Hats off to all concerned for a great performance.

A really lovely theatre with loads of leg room which these days is quite unusual. They put on brilliant productions & also have touring productions. They have a very nice bar for a pre theatre drink & interval drink. The staff are. Dry helpful too. It's a real little gem.

We saw Miles Jupp's tour date at The Mercury, part of their comedy festival. His "frustrated posh father of four" act was good, but stretched a bit thin over two hours. The theatre has no bad seats (we were in L28 and L29), the temperature was fine and the parking is easy. Interesting that he used an old-fashioned hand microphone... More

An extremely well performed production. A light hearted take on a serious issue, striking just the right balance of comedy to thought provoking comments. By staging this production in the much smaller studio theater was perfect to maintain an intimate performance, and encourage audience participation, and allowed the characters to 'bond' with the audience.

wondeful show, both moving and humorous, done with sensitivity and truly portrayed autism and what it is like to live with some one with it
