Finally got round to paying a return visit to this, our local museum, after a couple of decades! Dear old Nelson the Lion is still there, looking no older. Certainly laid out a lot different, but all for the better. The lovely local porcelain and pottery is still a highlight, including the Rhinocerus Vase, the Yorks and Lancs Regimental museum... More

I always like to take my children to the museum, every time they discover new things. They are allowed to touch and play with many items. There is a play room, where they can hear the sound of different animals or make art and craft. Entrance is free but they charge for joining most of the events.

Clifton Park Museum is a lovely Museum i like taking my step daughter there i find it fun and educational not just for children but for the whole family. I particularly like the world war 2 exhibition where you sit in an air raid shelter and you listen to sounds of Winston Churchill declaring war and sounds of a siren... More

I've been meaning to post a review here since the beginning of September, when we visited the museum to do some research on the First World War records of the York and Lancaster Regiment, whose archives the museum now holds. Unfortunately, we picked a time (Monday morning) when the archive staff weren't present, but other members of staff were extremely... More

The museum is great with a wonderful exhibition of local pottery. The rhinoceros vase is truly something to behold. Lots of interesting local history and... More

Not many things are free these days, the museum is interesting, educational and will take about an hour to walk around. It is well worth a visit before or after visiting Clifton Park which is fantastic for kids.
