An interesting diversion which even the kids enjoyed especially the period kitchen, I had to smile when one of the youngest of the grandkids asked where the washer drier was kept. Nice to see its one of the few remaining museums to allow free admission

We visited on our short break in the area,we found the museum very interesting.Home to the Walker Family, exhibitions of Pig Iron from nails to mugs and different vessels.Free Entrance, did not use cafe, unable to comment. Apparently they supplied Iron for the making of the Iron bridge in Sunderland.Recommended.

Bring change as charges for parking your car, couple of pound depending on how long you stay. If the weather is warm make sure to bring bucket and spade and swimming stuff for children. Their is a burger van, but I always pack sandwiches as it's cheaper. The park has a variety of play activities for young children, including a... More

I've been coming to Clifton Park and the museum since I was a little girl, my parents played here as kids and I now bring my 2 little girls. It gets better and better and is a lovely day out. I do suggest bringing your own picnic though; we have tried the cafe at the museum a couple of times... More

Been here many times I take my grandkids they love to see Nelson the Lion, then into the kitchen which amongst other things as a play kitchen which they love, also got a real good cafe and shop

Glad to see you are a repeat visitor. Nelson and the period kitchen always go down well with the young children, we also have an interactive area upstairs in the York & Lancaster Regimental Museum which is also proving popular. More

Decent for a free museum, good to have a walk around especially on a rainy day. Cafe overpriced but they always are in places like this. Little fayre and paddling pool area is great but not cheap. Worth a family day out now and then.

Thank you for your comments, we are pleased to hear that you like the Park and Museum. The Cafe aims to keep their prices affordable and hopefully has something for everyone. The fair is not run directly by the Council, it is run independently and they also work hard to keep prices low. We hope to see you again in... More

I hadn't been to the museum for a few years and I did notice the difference in some of the artifacts but the museum is still as interesting and beautiful as I remember. The difference was that the courtyard had disappeared which I used to like to explore and look through a window at the kitchen, now I can actually get into... Beautiful gardens which are a credit to the groundsmen. A great play area for the kids and there is Clifton Hall with many exhibits and helpful staff. If you like a nice walk and enjoy fresh air and history, then go hrtr.

Thank you for your lovely comments. The staff work hard to ensure the gardens look good all year round and the Park and Museum offer a great day out for all ages. After such positive comments did you mean to only give 1 star out of a possible 5? if not would you please be kind enough to update this... More

What a pleasant surprise. The staff here were lovely, so helpful and friendly. The museum is great. Very interesting, clean and welcoming. The dining room that plays host to weddings is beautiful. I will be returning here.
