Not many things are free these days, the museum is interesting, educational and will take about an hour to walk around. It is well worth a visit before or after visiting Clifton Park which is fantastic for kids.

The museum is great. Some disturbing stuffed animals though, including a 2 headed kitten and a huge bear which used to be sent into schools. I remember him towering above me in infant school being scared to eat my dinner

There is no charge for the museum and its very well set out inside providing an insight into Rotherhams history and the Walker family who owned the house. Gift shop and cafe and usually activities happening for children. some of the exhibitions are interactive making it more interesting for children. the staff are always very accomodating and helpful.

The museum is undergoing a facelift and from what I have already seen, it is absolutely superb! One of the best features is the small cafe, where you can get a quick bite to eat and the staff are very friendly. A must see if you are visiting the area.
