For over 1000 years, people have been gathering in this holy place to offer their prayers and praise to Almighty God. As they still do every day. It’s difficult to tell from a website, but here we are located right in the centre of the city, surrounded by shops and businesses, with people passing our doors as they go about their daily life. Many of those people stop by to light a candle, say a prayer, or spend a moment of stillness and calm.

We go here every year since I was very young for a Christmas tradition on Christmas Eve. It's a lovely place, atmosphere is amazing. Very welcoming.

The Cathedral is a beautiful building sitting in the middle of the town centre. As well as the usual services you expect from a Cathedral there is also a coffee shop at the side which is very good value, they also hold wedding receptions in there.

We went to Wakefield Cathedral for the Rock Mass and it was awesome! The cathedral is reordered in a very tasteful way that allows it to be used in a very versatile manner for all kinds of missional and diocesan events. A great Christian community working for the good of the local area and the whole of West Yorkshire.

We were hoping today to photograph the stained glass but this was not really possible due to the extensive renovation work which is taking place. The was not our first visit but the atmosphere today seemed very different to our last visit. Many candles had been lit in memory of those who died in the recent Paris massacre and this... More

Today I paid my respects to those who had been murdered in Paris. Amongst the art. The history. The architecture. A time to pause. A time to pray. A time to reflect. The atmosphere very spiritual on this day. Have been so many times and each time I annoy disappointed. Visit anytime. Consol your inner life. Enjoy the peace

Very nice cathedral, the cafe was excellent. The only sort of complaint I can think of is the fact that it was full of stalls when I visited to. Seemed a bit odd.

Love cathedrals but was disappointed at Wakefield. Work was going on and thought that everything was being updated to very modern and this is not my style.
