Very good value for money £3.75 (concession). Very interesting exhibits and you can spend 1.5 hours there. Easily found in Darlington. Staff friendly and helpful.

went home for xmas and decided to do to see the trains, not been since i was a kid so was unsure what was there. i paid £4.95 and dad £3.75 for being an OAP and also disabled. most places i have been to i would had got in free as a carer but had to pay full price. paid... More

While visiting Darlington this is a must see the Locos and Rolling Stock date back hundreds of years as I originally came from Darlington I was a TRAIN SPOTTER in my younger years and the trains in this museum bring back so many memories how fantastic

living so close my son had been bending my ear to visit as he loves anything from trains to tracks lol. Although a smaller museum to the National Rail museum its still very good with great exhibitions. recommended

This is a good museum for children and adults alike.There are regular exhibitions. It is a shame the cafe closed but refreshments are available.

As I was paying my entrance fee, I was told that a wedding was going to take place in about ten minutes. True, a small area had been set aside for the wedding ceremony, but that did not prevent me looking at all the very interesting exhibits in this museum. Very well set out with clear descriptions on the photographs and exhibits. More items on show that I thought. Very good and interesting museum. I liked the sound of a steam train in the background (could be louder!)

What a fantastic museum - sure, it's not as big as the nearby National Railway Museum's outstation at Shildon, and admission is not free, but the quality of displays is excellent and very interesting, too, so as well as just locomotives and rolling stock there are displays, images and various smaller items to look at. Great way to while away an hour or so, it is quite small but very interesting, very helpful staff. We were told it is struggling to stay open it would be shame if it had to close

We visited this museum on a Saturday afternoon and found it interesting; All of the exhibits seemed to work and there was plenty to keep a 5 year old and a 10 year old interested. it is a little small but well laid out and lovingly looked after. We liked the signs in the victorian toilets that they were exhibits... More
