Naturally beautiful, with its golden sand, Sandbanks Beach has been designated by the European Commission as one of the few areas in the United Kingdom which has achieved the highest standard of cleanliness. Sandbanks has held the highly coveted international Blue Flag for the past 24 years and offers a designed area for barbeques and swimmers. New slacklining posts have been installed. Equipment is available to hire from the beach office. Activities at Sandbanks include crazy golf, a children's play area and the Sandbanks Beach Cafe. The number 50 Wilts and Dorset bus from Bournemouth Station to Swanage stops near to the beach (generally every half hour in the summer). There is a car park next to the beach that holds 550 cars, 5 for disabled use.

Easy access to the beach, with large car park although expensive at £2 per hour. The beach is a stunning sandy beach that stenches all the way to Bournemouth beach. There are life guards, toilets and cafes. We really enjoyed the day.

We stayed in the sandbanks hotel on our visit. Arriving very late and in darkness we opened the curtains the next day to find a beautiful long sandy beach with blue skies and bright sunshine. The biggest tip I could give would be to use the chain ferry at the end of the sandbanks. £3.80 one way to swan age... More

Drove around Sandbanks and was slightly disappointed. The area looks a bit run down in places. Parking was very expensive, The only thing really going for it is the ferry service. Beach is lovely though, but not much different to Bournemouth. There is a crazy golf and a few kiosks. Views into the bay are beautiful too.

worth a look round to see how the other half live. I think this is popular as there were a lot of people congregating at certain houses

Popular sandy beach running all the way east to, and past, both Bournemouth and Boscombe piers. Noted for very expensive homes, on this "Spit", and also the parking facilities. The main eatery gets very busy and again is expensive for what's on offer. There is easy access to the beach which draws people like a magnet. The ferry (£3.80 e/w)... More

Great place to see modernist architecture, albeit the levels of wealth in the area are somewhat overwhelming.

What an overrated stretch of land. It looked like most of the houses had the builders in, scaffolding on most buildings. If I had the money, which I haven't, Its not the sort of place I would like to live.

A very clean and tidy beach - one of the finest in the world. Always busy during the summer, but very safe with Coastguard on patrol in the day. Don't forget to pop in on the crazy golf course further down the beach... It's certainly very crazy!
