Naturally beautiful, with its golden sand, Sandbanks Beach has been designated by the European Commission as one of the few areas in the United Kingdom which has achieved the highest standard of cleanliness. Sandbanks has held the highly coveted international Blue Flag for the past 24 years and offers a designed area for barbeques and swimmers. New slacklining posts have been installed. Equipment is available to hire from the beach office. Activities at Sandbanks include crazy golf, a children's play area and the Sandbanks Beach Cafe. The number 50 Wilts and Dorset bus from Bournemouth Station to Swanage stops near to the beach (generally every half hour in the summer). There is a car park next to the beach that holds 550 cars, 5 for disabled use.

I am very fond of Sandbanks and been coming here for many years. You can start with a slow drive along the seafront and Banks Road, following the road past the ferry, round Panorsma Road and back to your start point. Watch the kite surfers in the shallow waters, and the elegant yachts further out, tacking towards the harbour entrance.... More

Some posh houses, a smart cafe or two, and a decent walk into Bournemouth. A few dogs annoying you, especially the big ones whose owners will always tell you that they won't hurt you as they jump up and try to nick your ice cream. Worth a trip, you can park all day for a couple of quid if you're... More

Beautiful beach, lovely long promenade walk, plenty of places to stop for a coffee or ice-cream, loads of things for the kids to do - what's not to like!

A pleasant drive to the ferry along the shoreline. It runs three times an hour. We had to wait five minutes.

This beach is easy to reach via the large car park, vast expanse of sand with refreshments and toilets, the sandy beach is second to non, we have visited the beach in the summer months but found it just as nice but cooler in the winter. Well worth a visit from Swanage or Bournemouth

The view of Sandbanks can BEST BE ENJOYED from Harbour Heights Hotel which has a Panoramic view of this award winning area. Enjoy a Coffee for under £3, clotted cream tea £8.75 or a glass of wine whilst taking in A World Class view of Sandbanks. Why Not take a drive around the area, then cross the ferry (approx £4... Sandbanks has to be one of the best beaches in England, the whole area is beautiful and to see some of the properties in the area makes you realise why so many rich people want to buy and life here. There is always plenty to see as the entrance to Poole Harbour is always busy.

Sitting between Bournemouth & Poole, Sandbanks is a peninsula jutting into the mouth of Poole Harbour. A massively expensive bit of real estate, the houses here are ultra pricey but they're paying for the views of the harbour, Brownsea Island, Studland and back towards Bournemouth. Worth wandering along the sandy beach and viewing some of the grand houses from their... More

Sandbanks is lively and welcoming resort full of place to walk, eat and see. You can stroll along the beach or just sit in a bar and people watch.

As a fan of kayaking and standup paddleboarding this is one of my favourite spots; especially in the winter months when parking is really cheap. It's expensive in the summer from April to October, so I tend to go to cheaper destinations to enjoy the sea during those months. The carpark on the left of the mini roundabout just as... More
