Owner description: Naturally beautiful, with its golden sand, Sandbanks Beach has been designated by the European Commission as one of the few areas in the United Kingdom which has achieved the highest standard of cleanliness. Sandbanks has held the highly coveted international Blue Flag for the past 24 years and offers a designed area for barbeques and swimmers. New slacklining posts have been installed. Equipment is available to hire from the beach office. Activities at Sandbanks include crazy golf, a children's play area and the Sandbanks Beach Cafe. The number 50 Wilts and Dorset bus from Bournemouth Station to Swanage stops near to the beach (generally every half hour in the summer). There is a car park next to the beach that holds 550 cars, 5 for disabled use.

No better beach to walk along in UK. Absolutely love it in the winter as much as the summer. Fresh sea air and wide golden sandy beach. Best for walks and dog lovers. Any time of year is worth a visit - different feel each time. There is also great seaside real estate to check out!

We parked the car on the west coast and walked around the peninsula. It was a beautiful sunny cold winters day. Lots of people out doing the same thing! The beach was lovely very clean. We stopped for lunch at a large cafe (sorry can't remember the name) on the beach. Sure it was busy and expensive but the quality... More

A nice area, but the shops and bars are on the expensive side. If you have loads of money you will like it, Flash sports cars, expensive motorbikes, many superficial pretentious people and then you have the arrogant locals. I hated it. I loved Studland bay near Swanage, which isnt far away.

Although it was a rainy windy day, we had a lovely walk along the clean vast beach. There were a number places to stop for food or just a coffee. Plenty of parking too !

Always try to get to walk on this beach when visiting in laws although avoid high summer. Love it on cold winters day. Went on Boxing Day & got in a quick walk before rain descended. Always a lot of people with dogs & people swimming all year around. Lovely spot

Sandbanks is a peninsula and the posh part of Poole. As you drive down Evening Hill you get s good view of the bay, boats and houses. Parking can be expensive especially in the summer when the area is a huge tourist attraction because of the excellent blue flag beach which has the added benefit of RNLI lifeguards. The beach... I love the view from the Haven Hotel. Unfortunately there were some roadworks going on which restricted where we parked. Didn't spoil the day though
