I have always had a good experience at the Fat Cat. There is always an excellent selection of real ales & ciders. You can even have a takeaway delivered there, and they will supply the plates & knives & forks. Not on a Friday or Saturday though, I believe.

Love this place, it's cosy, friendly & serves a good selection of drinks from real ale to fruit wine & all the favourites in between. They do a mean scotch egg that is huge! Sunday to Thursday if you're hungry you can order in takeaway, borrow their plates and cutlery & they'll do the washing up... Win win! The only... More

Having recently found myself spending time in Ipswich I have been into this pub a few times. First and foremost they have great beer, a perfectly kept and very wide selection that is quickly rotated as thirsty locals exhaust the barrels. Great friendly atmosphere too, simple decor, plenty of space and no electronics or music inside, a comfortably appointed and... More

We read the reviews , and wanted to get to a good local pub.. Good beers, and really nice atmosphere. But we were also hungry, and looking for a meal. maybe we just misread the reviews - but hot food is not available. Cold scotch eggs (which were excellent) was all that was available. You can go up the street,... More

..... But it does rather depend on what you want a pub to offer. If you want music, televisions and other distractions from talking this isn't for you. If you don't and like a good choice of ales and possibly the best beer garden in Ipswich, you should come visit but you'll be lucky to park nearby.

First class beer, no music, simple decor, Subtle bar work so nobody dominates the room - you can even order takeaways to eat in. Back to the beer again:- fabulous ever changing choice, perfectly kept. There is a garden where occasional barbecues are held. Simple food is available and this includes excellent home made scotch eggs. John and now Liz... More

Not a pub where children are accepted. Dog friendly under supervision. Pleasant town pub with garden. Good selection of real ales and friendly welcome.Popular as will accept takeaway meals eaten on premises on most days. No T.V.
