the fat cat is definitely one of the best pubs in Ipswich, it always has a good selection of beers and lagers. they let you order takeaway on certain nights and provide cutlery for you.the garden out the back is lovely in the summer too. it can get busy and crowded but that is the mark of a good pub... One of the best pubs in Ipswich, if not the very best. Great choice of beers, excellent atmosphere, a great garden to enjoy the good weather, this pub has it all!

Excellent pub with tip top beers and service. Worth the shower dodging walk from Town anytime. Will be back next time in Ipswich without doubt.

We recently paid a visit to Ipswich where there are a number of great places to eat and drink one of which is the "Fat Cat Freemouse" (not a typo) public house. This is about half a mile from the city centre and is a well known drinking establishment. It is an unimposing red brick building on Spring Road but... More

This is a lovely little pub and probably one of the best pubs I've ever been in. Liz was a fantastic host and the service was excellent. It's woody and charming. Selection of beers is awesome. Absolutely wonderfully peaceful beer garden full of friendly locals. If there was anything to fault about the place it would be lack of parking... More

Something's change, so things move on, but having a good choice of ales and no juke box is what us drinkers like. Don't ever change!

A fantastic range of real ales from local and national brewery's. Wonderful atmosphere, no music, you can order takeaways and eat on the premises during the week. Lovely beer garden with great separate smoking area.

no slot machines, no juke box, no children, no pub grub. Just brilliant beer, lovely staff, conducive atmosphere and all the above explain why this is regularly the best pub in the area year on year. DON'T CHANGE A THING!

My husband and I have just eaten Sunday Lunch at the Fat Cat. I hesitate to tell you all how good it is for fear of not being able to reserve a table every Sunday to repeat the experience. It was excellent and the amuse de bouche of hot crackling was to die for. The beer was also excellent as... More

The Fat Cat is a great pub, with few pretensions - on certain evenings you can even order in a takeaway and eat it in the pub. It can be hard to get a seat or a table during busy periods, and it is often busy in the evenings or on sunny days. The beer list is epic and contains... More
