Huge selection of drinks, great atmosphere and really friendly staff. Only food served are bar snacks, but you can order in during the week. Plates and cutlery is provided with a designated area for clearing up after yourself - great as it means you don't have to bother anyone and can just relax. Probably the best pub in Ipswich.

Excellent selection of beers and really good scotch eggs. In the good weather the beer garden is very relaxing and a good place for friends to meet

I have been back twice returning from travelling, each time the beer is perfect, a quality pub with a professional staff who know a thing or two about keeping and serving ale ! Briliant

Came here with some friends for an after work drink. I like this sort of pub where the emphasis is more on the drinks than the food. You can get rolls and apparently they do a huge scotch egg. They do allow you to bring in take away food up until 10pm. I really like this idea. There was a... More

Went to the fat cat for a night out with a couple of friends with a pint, large white wine and a bacardi and coke costing less than a tenner, what's not to like. Very quick service even when it got busy. No loud music, just good old fashioned chit chat, very freindly great atmosphere. Recommended if you like a... More

The Fat Cat is one of those pubs that you could easy pass by built into one end of a terrace of housing. Much bigger on the inside basic and a bit old fashioned, loaded with great selection of beers and ales for the real ale drinkers and a selection of "commercial" gas pumps for the others. The staff know there... More
