I remembered Ipswich from my childhood but never even realised there was a waterfront to visit never mind what we actually found. My wife & I were staying overnight en route to Aldeburgh and went walkabout, only to stumble on the waterfront merely by following the other people. There was some sort of festival going on and we had a... More

We visited the waterfront during the maritime festival, it was buzzing with loads of stalls, food, drink and crafts.

Real shame this year 2014 Camra were cut out by the council, a few brewer's seem to have taken over but what a tip it is. You felt like being an alci on some waste land, the beer is ok but food if you call it that is £5 pound and above for really nothing special. Floods everywhere when it... More

Visited for a day during a short holiday in the area, but we didn't need all day. Very scruffy on the approach from the station area, derelict buildings and graffiti lined walls, would not feel comfortable there at night. Also rather awkward to get to. The main marina area has lots of modern flats but not much else aside from... More

We stopped in the premier inn just off the marina. The water front is well worth a visit. I agree with a previous review that it also reminded us of some French ports we have visited. The weather was warm and it was busy around the port. I would book for any of the quay side eateries or get there... More

The area is being regenerated and some parts are very nice some interesting and some run down. If the weather is ok it is great sit and watch the yachts and other boats and ships in the docks and also the river when the tide is out. If you wonder why there not many seats it is very much a... More
