Been several times to Portman Road to watch Ipswich Town. Some good, some not so good games. Staff friendly and always helpful. Go with friends with season tickets so seats very good. Would recommend going, atmosphere always good amongst fans.

Was a bit concerned about seeing barry manilow here as had heard bad things said about stadium! But no problems, brilliant seat near front and barry was fantastic as always, very good support act as well. Staff very helpful getting out and everyone seemed on a high! Well barry does have that effect on you!!

Went here to see Barry Manilow who was very good but I was very disappointed with the organisation at the stadium. Slow to get in due to 2 turnstiles being open, check ticket, put a wristband on, luckily we got there early. A lot of people had to move seats due to someone changing the seating layout, I understand these... More

Good stadium right in the middle of town, very easy to drive to, train station is close. Seating has little legroom. Stewards OK.Food adequate. Seat Prices - a scandal, they seem to live on past memories of their own importance and charge accordingly.

There are not many grounds you can go to called "friendly" but I've always found Portman Road to be just that. Close to the railway station (5 mins walk) with a hotel in between giving a well organised away fans bar. The seating is good, view fine (side view, not behind the goals), stewards human, pies good and decent space... More

It seems like a reasonable stadium, better than the football team that takes its name. I can't believe the ticket prices to see the games, I suppose this has to be the case to pay the ridiculoudsly inflated salaries of the team. When I used to go and see Chelsea I could easily afford to go in on the ordinary... More

The people were behaving, I felt save the entire time. The atmosphere was great, a lot of cheering, even after the home team was being led 2-1. The chairs in very good condition, mostly clean, not too big to be intimidating, but protected from rain for most parts. The grass was looking awesome. The food / drinks are not the... More

,,We went to a football match on the 21st December. The seats we had were in the East of England Co-op stand, what a fantastic view. I have been going off and on to Portman Road since the mid seventies, i use to stand in the old Churchmans stand. The improvments made over the year's have been very impressive, and... More

If you are going to an event here eat before hand as the food is poor quality costly rubbish. Not suitable for young children as it is very old in some areas and the toilets and very poorly sign posted. Even the staff were not sure.

Portman Road is a great 30,000 seater football stadium. It has a great history and a rich character. I have never seen any trouble on a match day, and the stadium has won awards for being a family-orientated stadium. Maybe the relatively high female match-day attendance is part of the success of this too. I often read of opposing football... More
