Visited the New Wolsey Theatre for the first time last Friday to see Jonny & The Baptists: Rock The Vote. While the show wasn't really my thing (I won my tickets in a competition), I thought the theatre was great. The seat pitch is just right so you can always see even if a really tall person is in front... More

Recent two experiences this season have been great. A lovely theatre with very helpful staff. Whether with grandchildren experiencing a very interactive performance superbly acted or as a couple laughing at the wonderful feminist show this theatre does not disappoint. Do not hesitate to visit.

Being devoted fans of LipService we travelled from Colchester to Ipswich to see their wonderful production of 'The Picture of Doreen Gray' at The Wolsey. We had not expected to find such easy parking in the immediately adjacent and brilliantly 'hidden' 'Spiral'; nor such a friendly, busy and efficient café within a bustling centre of community. I am not a... More

Our first visit to the New Wolsey Theatre was a resounding success. We saw "The Three Lions" and were captivated from the off. It is a very funny play which bowls along with its actors portraying Cameron, Becks and Prince William trying to secure the 2018 World Cup for England. We were also happy with the booking process, our seats,... More

Small, intimate, friendly, and always a good performance. Especially the Christmas rock panto! you need to book early to ensure you get a seat.

Thanks for the review and your kind words. It's great to hear you've had enjoyable experiences with us. That is very good advice both for Panto and the main season shows, book early to get the best seats at the best prices. See you soon! More

We had the pre-theatre meal which starts at 5pm - this made it a pain for parking as there is a changeover at 6pm and we had to go and feed the meter again then. The food was reasonably priced and quite tasty. The theatre itself is a fair size but the seats could do with a little more padding... More

We went to the Beauty & the Beast Rock N Roll Panto here recently. It was my first visit to this theatre & I was pleasantly surprised. It is relatively small and intimate, with a lovely "buzz" about it! The staff were all very welcoming and the performance was very good. Although we did not use it, the cafe did... More

We have seen many plays at the Wolsey and have never been disappointed. The shape of the stage, although not as wide as some, lends itself to easy adaptation and the scenery always looks great. The annual rock and roll panto is always a great success, we have been to every one since they were first introduced. The talent of... More

We visit this remarkable 400-seat theatre several times a month because it has such an exciting varied programme of shows. Every seat offers a good view and the acoustics are clear throughout the auditorium. The snack bar offers an interesting mix of filled rolls and light cooked meals are available before some shows. The bar is well stocked and the... More
