Have been this evening to see Midsummer Songs, a new musical production and tonight was only it's 3rd night. Have to say it was utterly superb and I'd strongly recommend gong to see it. I do like the New Wolsey very much because it's got comfortable, generous seating and no matter where you are you have a superb view. The... More

An excellent opening production Midsummer Songs for the Autumn season. Good story line supported by excellent music and songs, strong cast, and good audience response.

Small, intimate theatre, nice coffee, just a pity about the shows or lack of them. The shows that are on are good, don't get me wrong, there are just so few.. I come to Ipswich once a month and nine times out ten there is nothing on and the theatre is closed. This I don't understand as I live in... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm sorry we never seem to have anything on when you're here. The theatre is fully booked all year round and we close for one month in August for technical maintenance work. Because we're a producing theatre there might be a few days leading up to the opening of... More

Well worth a visit. The Wolsey has a variety of shows on to suit all tastes. The auditorium is very well designed you get a good view of the stage wherever you sit. Prices are reasonable too.

The coffee and tea are reasonably priced and served promptly. Also a card is available to collect stamps towards a free hot drink. Nice place to have a quick pick me up!

We have always loved the Wolsey, especially the yearly pantomime - though I now live too far away to visit often, I just purchased a gift voucher for a relative so they can enjoy the theatre more. The service was easy to use and excellent, and an advisor was instantly available for me to check the details via the chat... More

My daughter (early primary school age) loves coming to the theatre, she always enjoys the shows, and the prices of the shows are not too expensive, they are even bearable for adults! Only complaint is that the refreshments are a little pricey, and there are no shows for kids in August!

Went to see Oliver and wow what a fantastic performance. The players with special mention to Nancy - what an amazing voice - Fagin - Oliver and the Dodger - were brilliant and every bit as good as the London show. The Wolsey Theatre has great seats with completely unobstructed views and fantastic sound quality .... The PA played thunder... More
