This old Mansion has been beautifully preserved and enhanced with modern facilities by the Town Council. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is welcoming. In heat wave conditions the air conditioning is a real boon. Probably not very interesting for young children.

Got taken here on my first date with my other half so a big soft spot for the mansion! It's a lovely attraction, incredibly interesting and you can literally spend hours getting lost in the place!

I visited the Mansion with a friend of mine who lives in Ipswich. We both enjoyed the panel room on the second floor - even though she lives there and had been in the mansion many times, she had not really seen the panels in the small room. They showed wonderful stories about the times of the past. I was... More

I took my eighteen month old grandson around the mansion and he was thoroughly entertained, even though I thought he may have been too young. It is crammed full of things to see and just like stepping back in time. My favourite room is still the kitchen, you can just imagine the fire burning and the hustle and bustle of... More

This is a must when you go to Ipswich....or anywhere near by. Historically fabulous - woodwork /Tudor portraits/artifacts/etc and on top of all that they had paintings by Munnings/Turner and Constable . Leave yourself lots of time for the visit. Well worth it. Staff friendly and helpful . I will go back again asap. ( FYI: no admission charge /... More

I've introduced this historic gem to people visiting me in Ipswich. The staff there are welcoming and very helpful. The room decor and in particular the paneling in this building are exquisite. Walls bedecked by historic portraits, fine staircase and intriguing corridors all make up a really worthwhile visit.

This place is absolutely stunning. The tourist information office suggested that I go there and it is the place to visit in Ipswich,. It is free to go around and is full of fascinating artefacts. Wandering from room to room is a delight from the simplicity of the butlers room to ornate bedrooms. The staff are great, they are friendly... More

I guess this is a must visit when you are in Ipswich, even if you're not a history fan. The Mansion got its history since the 13th century and many people have lived and added rooms in it. It got a lot of the European style, I remembered the Palace of Versailles in Paris. From private rooms, to kitchen, tea... More
