A lovely place to take a nice stroll and watch the sun slowly going down and the lights on the promenade coming on

Plenty of pebbles but worth a visit when the sun is out - boat trips in a speedy yellow boat or slow one if that's what you prefer.

Nice long beach that extends around the bay, pity though there are quite a lot of pebbles that make it not too easy for walking, especially if you have a child in a buggy.

There is nothing wrong with this stony beach but if you want masses of sand to play on and space to run around then buy your beach goods here as well as a packed lunch and travel the 3/4 mile or so to The West Shore which is far quieter and in many ways better for kids.

Beach is non-existent. Pile of rubble. Wouldn't give it the credit of 'pebbles'. Wide flat sea front but not many flowers (apart from the plastic ones tied to benches - why?- don't you remember your loved ones without plastic flowers?). No shade to speak of so if it's sunny you have to cram on a wooden bench in a row... More

Recently made a return visit to the Victorian Extravaganza. This beautiful town excells itself and it is such a joy to walk along the elegant prom. The very wide promenade means no matter how busy, you dont feel crowded. Plenty of seating and places to eat just off the prom. Just one thing, the beach has been covered in stone,... More

A lovely walk to the North Bay to see the delightful views and a little bit of exercise. Good for the youngsters with the large play park on the front and if you are tired you can always get the land train back.
