I had a very pleasant visit to this attraction as I am unable to walk and need to use my scooter, the gentleman who was there could not have been more helpful and welcoming, very different to the reception I got at the Home Front museum where I was turned away. The museum had parts that were quite narrow for... More

The museum has a £2 admission charge but it is money well spent if you like to have an understanding of the history of the place you are visiting. There is also a F.E. Chardon exhibition of his works and collections. We found it quite interesting.

People sometimes don't find this little treasure because it's situated on the outskirts of the town (its placed on the main road between the town centre and the west shore). For those who do find it there is much to see and learn about the town's history. There you will find fascinating information about the original inhabitants who lived on... More

Staff were very friendly and informative, museum was well set out with lots of information, set out I'm old Victorian house it was quite quirky. Treated us to a film about the connection with Alice in Wonderland as this attraction has now closed, would be nice to see more of that in the museum. Bargain for 2 pound entry.

It's a tiny private museum about the town's history, only £2 entry, with lots of artifacts and photos showing its early days and heydays. There's a room full of info. about the copper mines (prehistoric to recent rediscovery) and the person in charge is willing to answer queries. The library/ information office can tell you where it is and when it's... More

This is not a museum more a collection of oddments gifted to the town. Poorly displayed - very little information and indifferent staff. On the day of our visit there was a small school party that had virtually taken the place over. Do not recommend.
