Harry took 13 of us for a walk around the old part of Eastbourne on a sunny autumn day. I took my Labrador along as dogs were welcome and Harry told us about things that we would never have dreamed were there. His knowledge of Eastbourne history is excellent and I recommend spending time on one of Harry's walks.

If you do nothing else on your visit to Eastbourne.....do this walk with Harry Pope....the writer, the walker, the talker. A thoroughly entertaining 90 minute+ gentle stroll through Eastbourne's cultural history. Along the way Harry will take you into the Royal Hippodrome Theatre and his local, the best pub in Eastbourne. Which one you ask? Go on Harry's walk and... More

You might not think there isn't much interesting to know about Eastbourne. Harry knows better, and after 90+ minutes in his company, so will you. From strange tales of the goings-on in the house that used to belong to the comedian Sandy Powell, to the Doctor who literally got away with murder, Harry has some fascinating stories. We've lived here... More

Harry and Damian really bring life to the town wheedling out the nitty and gritty secrets Eastbourne has, including the past residence of one of the worlds most prolific serial killers! They now have 3 walks to choose from and sadly The Cream Tea tour on the Pier wasn't available when we visited, but we thoroughly enjoyed the nearly 2... More

Harry is a card! He takes a gentle walking tour around Eastbourne. As an ex Hotelier he has lots of stories to tell about the Sea front area and it's residents. We enjoyed his anecdotes and gentle banter. His walk is advertised as 90 minutes, but he's happy to chat and answer questions so it can take a little longer!... More
