This place need some urgent upgrade, it's one of the main attractions in Eastbourne but unfortunately is not that pretty and it's badly maintained.

A pleasant stroll in the March sunshine on the pier, but it's desperately in need of restoration. Paint was peeling from most surfaces, and part of it was cordoned off for no apparent reason (safety I wonder...)? Eastbourne is not a poor town so it would be good to see some cash diverted towards keeping this traditional attraction maintained to... More

We took the 'sea air' a couple of times during our brief stay in Eastbourne and what better way than to walk the pier. Fresh air and great views up and down the coast.

Having spent my youth and lived in Eastbourne 60 years ago and as we were visiting the UK in July 2013 we stayed 2 days in Eastbourne and of all places, visited and walked along the pier. What a total dissapointment !!! At around 11am there were hardly any places open on it but the general appearance of the total... More

Had a lovely time here, did some gaming and then had high tea along the Pier. The water was beyond freezing although it was winter time and being Australian I had to prove my love of the ocean by wading in knee deep. We got some chips and sat on the beach which was very pebbly. In had an enjoyable... More

This pier is one of the few left in England. If you fancy walking all the way round it there are nice views out to sea and also a different view of Eastbourne seafront. There is an amusement arcade and a few shops, a tea room and a fish/chip restaurant. Some restoration is being undertaken, as clearly it is needed.

Tired, run down and in need of the local council to invest! It was pouring with rain outside when we visited and inside the main amusements area it was raining just as hard as the roof leaked profusely! There were more buckets on the floor that people! Its a shame that it has been allowed to get to that state.

With 2 friends we went for a walk onto the pier at Eastbourne and nearly got blown off due to the blustery weather. It is a well kept and maintained Victorian pier and halfway along it is a tea room where we had a delightful cream tea for £3.95 made with leaves and not bags! We had a thoroughly pleasant... More
