If you're going to Stavanger, it's probably for the Preikestolen. And if it's not for this, do whatever it takes to hike this rock!!! You will thank me later. It's so awe-inspiring. The view was simply... amazing. Out of this world!! Start your hike early. If you're taking the ferry, make sure you get the first one. It takes about... More

May 18, 2012 Our initial plan was to take the package: bus/ferry/bus from/to Stavanger-Tau-Preikestolen. Unfortunately, weekday services only starts from 21 May, 2012. We were recommended to hire a car & we decided on Hertz, which turned out to be very convenient. It is also a great experience especially taking the ferry with the car from/to Stavanger - Tau. The... The view is amazing. I'd recommend renting a car instead of taking the bus. It was really frustrating waiting around forever for the bus. More

This is a walk up hike that will take 1-2 hours depending on you conditioning. The views are spectacular from the rock and the trail is very scenic as well. More

I've done this trip about five times and enjoyed it every time. Best tip is to start early to avoid the crowds starting later in the day. Go when there is good weather to be able to appreciate the views and ensure to dangle your feet over the edge on the top. More

The walk up is not as challenging as some other place but still requires a bit of preparation. The view from up there is unbelievable. I would say this is a must visit if you are in the Rogaland region. More

If you only had one trip to do, before you left this planet.. this should be it! The view from the Pulpit Rock in Lysefjord in Norway takes your breath away, and stays in your soul for a long long time after you left it. Not strange that CNN rated it as No 1 on their new list for 2012;... More

So, the trek up to Pulpit Rock in April...........2 hours, rocky, icy, snowy, lung-busting, thigh-burning and death-defying, but oh my God it is so worth it!!! Wear sensible hiking boots or trainers, layer-up, bring lots of water, bring a packed lunch to have when you get to the top, and spend some proper time up on the rock, because the... More
