We went with two children in primary school age. Had an excellent experience. Penguins, cod, seals and 1.000+ lbs halibuts. You can feed and pet dancing fish. Admission is steep, but this is Norway.

On a roadtrip with friends I had the chance to visit the park. The prices are fairly steep but working in the business we got to see the park for free - and it was awesome! I saw the park out of season but everything was on place. This place has a great variety of species, known and unknown. Let... More

One of the best aquarium visited so far. Of a reasonable size so that everything can be seen in 2hrs with the kids. interesting activites for them such as the touch pool in the activity room. Displayed sea life is very well representing the North Atlantic ecosystems! Really worth a visit if you are in the region.

Not just for kids, really! Some sections are truly excellent, esp on reintroduction of sea eagle in the area and open pool with several species, with turbots keen to socialise with spectators, good fun

The aquarium is located abaout ten minutes drive from the city (don't bother walking, as its quite far). Situated on the coast it is a really nice aquarium with all the Norwegian species of salt water fish. There are also penguins and some tropical exhibits. A seal pond is also under construction and should open in fall 2014. If I... More

This is a nice way to find out more about what is going on in norwegian waters. they have a big exibit of marine life . Remember to let the kids try crab fishing and let them hold a lobster or an other sea animal. There is allso feeding of all the fish in the big tank and the penguins.... More

This is a lovely aquarium for both adults and children. It has all kinds of species of fish and even a pool with penguins. I also loved the fact that it's located on the Atlantic shore. It is definitely a must see while in Alesund.

Visited aquarium and with only 2 hours until closing was afraid I may miss some displays. Spent the first 15 minutes watching the penguin feeding, which was fine but no real wow factor, then set off to see the rest. Many displays were not labelled, and in some tanks water was cloudy reducing vision. There were a couple of tanks... More

I have visited Alesund many times over the years, but for no reason I had not taken a trip to the aquarium. I now know what I was missing, my 3 year old daughter had a great time seeing everything on offer. The penguin feeding was a real hoot - the feeder wore a penguin suit to match his surroundings....
