This fjord is amazingly beautiful. It is not as majestic or dramatic as the sognefjord, but much more livable with little towns dotted around and more rolling hills in amongst the cliffs. We did a bike ride after part of the fjord cruise that runs around the towns there. If we did it again I think we would rather hike... More

Took the Hardanger in a nutshell trip all smooth and easy. Train then bus from Myrdal to Uvik which was great, surprised only 15 people on that section of trip. Bus driver was good no rushing scenery was fantastic as you approach Uvik. Then boat onto coach to nature centre and waterfall (this was the most underwhelming part of the... More

we went on a 20 day tour including the cruise to st petersburg from copenhagen but this was the highlight of our trip ..i would compare the views with lake louise in canada or bellagio-lake como area in italy. Infact fjords are even better then alaska cruise. we went on a norway in a nutshell tour and hardanjer fjord tour... More

After visiting the spectecular Geirangerfjord I found the Hardangerfjord more average. Do visi if in Bergen. Ferry was indoors and fast moving; better photo taking opportunities if outdoors.

The Hardangerfjord is the classical Norwegian fjord. It´s only competitor is the Sognefjord. It is both narrow and broad. Many tourists do not experience the outer part of the fjord, the area called Sunnhordland. Do not miss this area with Leirvik/Stord, Halsnoey, southern part of Tysnes, Rosendal and Mauranger. Further in you will find beautiful towns like Strandebarm, Jondal, Norheimsund/Oystese,... More

We took the bus to the train and then went on a cruise ship through the fjords. It was truly beautiful!! The whole scenery with waterfalls, mountains, animals, little houses - a very amazing place! We had a guide who explained us the history, talked about the people living there and answered all questions we had. I can only recommend... More

All the Fjords in Norway are spectacular, and this one is no exception. Get on a boat, and bring your camera, you won't be disappointed.

We took a day trip from Bergen on The Bus, then ferry along the fjord and cycled the southern side between Utne & Herand. Easily booked from tourist information in Bergen as a package. Fjord is spectacular and cycling along coast was amazing (big climb over high pass over to Herand was tough but well worth it, need a bit... More

seen from the stern of a cruise ship the fjord opens up on the way to the sea. The landscape and light change by the minute to make great photo opportunities

It was evening by the time we got to our hotel so by the time we ate and were able to walk around Bergen only a few shops were open. The Fjord is so beautiful! Love the color of the buildings.
