There are several ways to get on top, and it's a nice sweat on the way up. You feel you put some effort into it, but not that much that you feel like you're dying. And I am referring to very occasional hikers. The locals seem to do it when they are walking their dog out.

We went the longest trip from Mount Floyen to Ulriken. It was very hard with many ups and downs. There are very beutiful views on the way to Ulriken but as we were too tired after 5 hours of Vidden, we just wanted to get down as fast as possible. Wasnt worth it. My toes still remember that hell.

We did this trip at he end of our stay and took the bus from next to the fishmarket. Getting to the top we found ourselves in a place of natural wonder with beautiful views around bergen, not to be missed

Be carefull. I you walk on the way back, make sure you take the proper shoes ! We liked the view over Bergen but found exaggerated the fact the parking was not free.

Great way to get a view of Bergen and surroundings and do a walk in the mountain (very Norwegian thing to do). Wear proper walking or trekking shoes since the paths are full of stones. The kids also loved it.

As a tour destination: It will take you roughly 40min from where the cabelcar starts to the top. If you are to take the bus from downtown Bergen; take bus nr 2 and go of @ the Haukeland stop (by the hospital). The view is great on sunny days. Bring clothes - it could be windy up there. We went on a cruise to Norway and decided to go up on this as part of an excursion. The views from the top are outstanding. We just wished that we could have stayed longer up there. The weather wasn`t too bad but it did start to rain as we were coming back down.

Exciting panoramic views, scottish landscape, hiking opportunities, but unpredictable weather. While it was warm and dry in the city center, it was a real storm up there! Rain showers with strong gusts of wind. The cable car was interrupted because of these weather conditions. So please check up the weather before going up there.

Took the Ulrikbanen to get up here- the sights were absolutely astounding. The tickets would run you about 150 NOK (25USD) or so for a roundtrip. However, if you are planning on doing the Vidden trail then get a one way ticket for this and the Fonicular

It is the highest mountain can be reached with Ulriken Cable car just outside the city center. If you visit Ulriken, we recommend a meal at Restaurant Sky:skraperenon top. It has a stunning view and delicious food!
