Two words: Just fantastic! This attraction is maybe one of top five in Bergen. We purchased a roundtrip from bus stop near Bryggen. The trip from Bergen centre to base by takes 7 minutes by company bus (two decker) The ride up from base to mountaintop in a gondola takes app 5-6 minutes. Both trips are great. On top of... More

Well I am a photography enthusiast, I hiked up the mountain and took me a few hours, however when I reached the top it started to snow therefore I was not able to walk close to the cable car area. If you decide to hike make sure you bring plenty of water and granola bars!

Take the gondola to the top then step out for a mountaintop hike with incredible vistas. Make sure you have sturdy footwear because the paths are rocky and wet. We took the hike back down to the gondola base and although the path was marked as moderate in difficulty, the erosion in recent years has made the path quite a... More

Just being up there is an awesome experience. There are short hikes you can do that are not as demanding as the Vidden hike to Floyen (one I attempted and failed). I recommend taking the funicular up and saving your strength for hiking around once up there. It's very rocky so be careful and wear good sturdy waterproof boots. A... More

We loved the view from Mount Ulriken and much preferred it to the crowded Floyen. The cable car up took around 5 minutes and there was no queue when we visited at 12pm but the weather wasn't particularly great but the view was still amazing.

Steep, wet and rocky road goes up, but if you are not afraid of ferrata, it is going to be your favourite route. You arrive in 645 m high, with a great view, you can check the restaurant (which is expensive, 35 kr for a coffee) and from the top you can decide whether you go on and do other... More

Think this is a must-do in Bergen on a clear day. The view is just amazing. For simplicity we took the provided bus from near the visitor centre but you can take public transport to save some dollars if you need to. Surprisingly the crowds were light on such a beautiful day so we thoroughly enjoyed our time up on... More

We were visiting Bergen for the very first time (on a cruise ship) and we drew up a list of things to do on our day in Bergen. With most of the tourists on the ship heading to the funicular up Mount Floyen, we decided instead to do the cable-car to Mount Ulriken and avoid the crowds. This worked a... More

The wind, cold and rain did not stop us from seeing Mt. Ulriken. This is a must see place if you are in Bergen. The cable car up and down is great but if you have the energy and time, hiking this place would be excellent idea. The biggest joy was the lovely views from the high mountains. Around the... More
