The Bergen funicular is one of those must do tourist attractions. Wait time is very short and the train capacity is about 60 persons. We were only waiting about 5 minutes for the next train. Apart from the nice view which has been mentioned many times by other reviewers there are lovely walks through pine forest at the top. You... More

The price is cheap, the time needed is brief, and the view is fantastic. Definitely go for it while in Bergen.

Like most tourists, I suspect, we took the funicular up & walked back down. It was packed with people, but we'll worth it for the view & it's a lovely walk back down the mountain (& you can admire the locals who charge up & down the mountain on foot!)

A must go if you're in Bergen. Take a one way ride up to the peak and hike down to the city center from there. You won't regret it.

Took the cart up the hill and walked back. Nice view over the picturesque Town of Bergen. You won't be alone up there, but the view is worth it.

When in Bergen, you have to visit Fløyen (mount Floyen). Be sure that the sun is shining or the clouds are high, to get the best view over Bergen City. You can walk up the hill or take the funicular to the top. On top at Fløyen there are lots of walking paths that brings you through the wood an... More

Sure, most tourists go on the Funicular if they're Bergen, and there are many, many tourists. So, the funicular itself is super crowded. But the view is absolutely amazing! You can see all of Bergen and its reaches from about mount floyen. Go in the morning, the line will be shorter and Bergen often has sunny mornings (and rain the... More

My first trip on the funicular was several years ago. It was busy but clean when you consider how many people use it. The view at the top is spectacular. A complete panorama of Bergen and the fjords surrounding it! I couldn't stop taking photos! There is such an amazing energy there, I felt quite emotional and I know I'm... More

In the middle of the day when two large cruise ships were in town, the queue for the funicular was half way down the street. It moved quickly enough, as 70 people can load on at a time. We bought one way tickets and walked the easy wide path down the hill. After enjoying the view and having a small... More
