Our boat docked in Geiranger . We decided to take an excursion offered by our ship, the Vision of the Seas. We got on a bus that took us to the very top of one of the fjords . At this location, we selected a bike and were led down the fjords on a fascinating bike ride. The scenery was... More

We started our day in Bergen. Planned to explore the city but there were 3 cruise ship that docked. City was full of people so we decided to take the boat/train tour of the fjords. The trip starts by boat heading north. I was the typical tourist hanging to the rail on the back deck of the boat. The scenes... More

My friends and I were in Bergen for three days. On the second day, we took a day trip to visit Sognefjord on express boat, It is the most beautiful scenery that I have ever seen. The weather is splendid and it makes the whole sightseeing more beautiful. We then moved on from Flam to visit Flam railway and the... More

We picked up the public boat in Bergen at 8:00, the boat makes a few stops along the route of the fjords. By noon we were at our stop, Balestrand. The boat is comfortable, has places for seating and viewing the majestic Sognefjord, and has clean bathrooms and a small cafeteria where the food is fine and the service excellent.... More

Bergen itself is a lovely town. The locals say it rains a lot but I've been there twice on business and it was sunny each time. Even staying in the town is great because of the various attractions including the funicular railway to the top of the hill which gives wonderful views and the Mongolian restaurant where I had great... The Sognefjord Fjord is the longest and deepest in Norway and the trip from Bergen to Flam on the local boat is the only way to see it. It leaves Bergen and travels upto and along the fjord ,stopping at villages along the fjords edge. Magnificent scenery and stunning waterfalls. At Flam you can tranfer to the train which travels... We really loved the views of the impressive fjords. They were definitely worth it. The boat ride does take some time as the fjords are not very close by, so it's nice to bring something to do as otherwise the hour coming back will become a bit boring. Also bring a good jacket against the wind as it can become... More

Most expensive of all Baltic states we visited, but so worth it. Forget restaurants and have your lunch in the outdoor fish market in Bergen .... and use the cable car to get to the top of Ulriksen - the views are spectacular [as is the air]

My husband and I were fortunate enough to visit Bergen in May 2013 whilst enjoying a cruise to the Fjords of Norway. The Fjords themselves are stunning and Bergen a delight. We were so lucky to have the benefit of one of the few dry (and beautifully sunny) days Norway has and so the visit on the cable car to... More
