I've been walking and skiing in "Bymarka" many, many times. There are offers for "everybody", from very small children or seniors to the young and very fit. get a map, study the timetables for the buses and pick a trip/trail that You believe will suit You. There are several huts that serve coffe, cakes and light meals in the weekends... More

Bymaka is a forest close to Trondheim with a wealth of opportunities for those who like nature and outdoor activities. Here you can find hills, trails, lakes, and some nice views of Trondheim and the surrounding area. You can go hiking, mountain biking, running, cross country skiing (in winter), swimming in the lakes, and more. There are also a few... More

We took a guided tour from our cruise ship and found Bymarka a lovely walk with trails, lakes, nature all part of the view. Not sure if we really needed to do the guided tour as the guides provided little in background, however I can imagine if you have a limited timeline , you could get lost, have a tough... More

Go from bottom to top, with a mountainbike, and enjoy the many trails downhill. NB! Respect the hikers!

I have been in Bymarka many many times since I moved here, but not enough. I know roughly the area, but it is big! The best thing about Bymarka is that it is so close to the city center and there are many trails you can take, depending on how much time you want to spend there. If you want... More

On hot summers days it's great to go swimming in the many lakes in Byåsen and Bymarka. Lianvannet and Kyvannet are the most easily accessed, both reached by tram which goes from St. Olavs gate. If you follow the footpath that goes south of the end tram stop you will find another lake, Haukvatnet which has been made accessible for... More

A good way to spend a day is heading to Bymarka, the biggest forrest near the city of Trondheim. Bymarka has several tracks for walking and bycycling and in the winter cross country ski tracks. If your tired of the city just head here and enjoy the silence it will give you.

Take the tram to Lian and walk around the lake. It only takes an hour to walk the full circle and the area is very peaceful and relaxing.

Recommended to dress comfortably. The hike was at a leisurely pace and it was a good workout at the end of the 2 hours! Remember to try the Norwegian Cinnamon rolls at the city centre after the hike.

So easy to reach, and beautiful. We simply walked out of the hotel, went past the tunnel at the edge of town, and started our hike up the mountain. 3 km later (and 400 vertical meters) we were on the top of a hill with great vistas over the fjord and valley. Then walked over to Lian (couple of easy... More
