Nice and quiet

Very nice little park to visit in spring/summertime. In the summer there is an open cafe and concerts in the evening

I visited a park a few times during spring-summer 2014. It is on the top of the hill and one of the ways to get there is walking on the stairs carved with phrases from 'Peer Gynt'. The park is not big, but very lovely. The first time we were very lucky, because the gardeners were replanting tullips, so every... More

Gorgeous park with views of the town. Many structures which served as living quarters and smokehouses from the middle ages. Nice food service area. Every town should have a nice park like this one!

It's an amazing place to come and see first hand how people lived in through different ages. The grounds are lovely with flowers blooming in the spring time.

Beautiful old buildings, nice relaxed atmosphere, do things in your own pace. Playground for kids. Icecream and foods available. Entry to the park is free.

This is one of Skien town's hidden treasures. Easily reached by foot from the town centre (but steep), and very nicely set on a cliffedge over the town, with a spectacular view over the town itself, and the river with canal boats, and over the landscapes around it. The park flourishes at its loveliest in early summer, but is well... More

The park is nice, with old buildings, a small playground and a café. My wife is from Skien, and she pointed out it used to be much nicer, it seems like budgets for keeping the park in shape have been cut. The park often features shows and other family-activities. The café is actually quite reasonably priced by norwegian standards, and... More
