We saw the Christiania 12, a New Orleans style 12 piece jazz band, who were absolutely superb. It was 150 krone each entrance, and of course, the drinks weren't cheap (where are they cheap in Oslo?) but it was well worth it. We seemed to be the only non-Norwegians in the crowd but we were welcomed in and offered a... More

I'm an Engineer, age 56, working in Oslo now for a 6 month assignment. I was excited to find this place since it looked like there were some fantastic jazz shows here. Then I had the unfortunate experience of meeting the owner, sitting with three other gentlemen, who seemed very amused at my questions about the beer menu. He made... More

Cheap to enter, very, very expensive beer -- £100 for a round of beers for the band! But the music was second to none, and the smallish sized room really created a great atmosphere.

OK, so first about what this place is NOT: It is not the Alto in Amsterdam or Fresco in Hong Kong! What I mean by that is, if you have been to either of these you already know this, that although it is small it somehow lacks the coziness and intimacy of Fresco and the general joviality of Alto. But... More

Based on the reviews, we decided to go to the Klubb while in Oslo. There was an over-the -hill jazz singer with a very good back up jazz band. I thought the $15 cover was high as many other venues just overcharge the drinks as did this venue. Migfht be worth it if had a known band.

...just dropped in based on recommendation from the hotel Concierge. The group "knocked my socks off". I was told this was the first time they'd played together. Reminded me of Greenwich Village Clubs of 50's, 60's & 70's...where good music is played spontaneously...improvised for the moment. The drummer was Carl Stormer, saxophonist previously played in "Steps Ahead"; I don't remember... More
