I visited Oslo for the first time and was pleasantly surprised to find a park with some amazingly unusual artwork of sculptures in the middle of it and to be enjoyed free. Although there were a lot of people about it was very clean and noise free. The sculptures complement the surrounding with an attractive fountain in the middle of... More

This is a really fantastic park with lots to explore. We took an enjoyable stroll around looking at the sculptures which are so detailed and beautifully laid out taking you through the course of life. Bring a picnic as its a great place to soak up the atmosphere and people watch.

The statues of Gustav Vigeland are absolutely fabulous. Four times we have visited Oslo, and four times we have lingered long at Vigeland Park. Every stage of life is represented in these amazing statues, and every emotion is also reflected. There is no admission charge, and there is no need to rush through this amazing place. Very nice place. The park is big and beautiful, very nice for a walk or bike. There are loads of sculptures from Vigeland, so it's a very nice place to spend a few hours just admiring the art.

The park is home to a wide collection of sculptures and flowers together. I have never seen such a beautiful park with a meaning in its arrangement. The sculptures are arranged such a way that they start from childhood to marriage and then to death. Being an arab muslim I do not fancy naked sculptures and find such art difficult... More

You will get much more out of the sculpture if you go with a human guide, or at least take a guide book. It helps to be there on a beautiful summer day as we were.

A truly unique experience - Vigeland spent years creating this series of sculptures for the city of Oslo, and they now create a wonderful experience for both locals and visitors.

Well worth a visit. The statues are fascinating, and the park was lovely. Not central, but worth the effort to get there. Those I met later on my travels all aske dif I had been to the park when I mentioned that I had visited Oslo... so very glad that I made the visit.

This park is one of Oslo's iconic landmarks. Great sculptures and if you are lucky enough, you will find a Norwegian knowledgeable enough to give you a brief history of each. They all have a unique and interesting story.
