The Vigeland Park was one of the most memorable parts of my trip to Scandinavia. These wonderful sculptures, depicting the various stages of human life, are so well done that they seem to have a little bit of life shining inside them. The little statue of the crying baby is incredible and the Monolith is inspiring. The park is beautiful... More

The highlight of my tour of Oslo. One must see the beautiful sculpture in this magnificent park. It's hard to believe one man created such a magnitude of statues. Each one keeps you thinking as to its meaning which can be interpreted in so any ways. a "must see" while in Oslo.

This place is actually just connected to Frogner. It was a lovely day out - read by review in Frogner on what happened in June 2013. Definitely a place to take great photos and enjoy the sunny weather (in summer, of course). Don't miss it! You don't just get to admire scenery, you get to people-watch! Best of all, it's... More

This would be a fantastic urban park experience without the sculptures. Then there's the large number of amazing sculptures - they're all of people and are very relatable both aesthetically and emotionally. I didn't get to spend enough time here looking at each individual sculpture - if you like contemplating that sort of thing make sure you allow enough time.

A great park in the centre of Oslo. Statues, fountains, green lawns, roses and an excellent playground for children. The café at the entrance of the park is quite expensive, and should be avoided. Bring your own picnik basket and sit down on one of the lawns instead (in summer of course). In winter, go to one of the bakeries/cafés... More

Vigeland Park in Oslo is well worth a visit. It is essentially a huge, beautifully laid out park which is made famous because of its life size granite statues from the creative genius, Gustav Vigeland. Almost 200 statues have permanent residence here and are so life like and are so full of raw emotion you cannot help but imagine that... More

Make some time to see this park. It is unlike anything I have ever seen. The park is beautifully maintained and the sculptures are interesting to say the least. Everyone there was having a good time checking them all out. There is no charge to get into the park and is located just outside the main tourist area of the... More

Nice for a walk and taking some pictures. In one hour you can see all the statues and most of the park. Parking is not free

Between the gorgeous park, the incredible art, the people watching, this is one of the most fascinating things to do in Oslo--one of the highlights, surprisingly, of our trip to Scandinavia...in part because it was such an interesting mix of people and spaces and thought provoking juxtapositions...
