Owner description: The Vigeland Park is the world's largest sculpture park made by a single artist, and is one of Norway's most popular tourist attractions. The park is open to visitors all year round. The unique sculpture park is Gustav Vigeland's lifework with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and wrought iron. Vigeland was also in charge of the design and architectural layout of the park. The Vigeland Park was mainly completed between 1939 and 1949. Most of the sculptures are placed in five units along an 850 meter long axis: The Main gate, the Bridge with the Children's playground, the Fountain, the Monolith plateau and the Wheel of Life.

This is a beautiful Park which I had the opportunity to visit on a beautiful sunny cold Saturday in the month of February. I believe this is the Park that has most sculptures sculpted by the same artist- Gustav Vigeland- (in excess of 200 sculptures) in a single park and which are indeed very impressive; it consists of nude people... Went to this park in mid winter. It was very busy on Christmas Eve with tourists and locals. It is a nice park. Nice to see the varied "unusual ( some weird- but in a nice way) statues". You have to look closely at each statues due to the varied shapes. They are modern type art statues. But we enjoyed... More

Park is famous for beautiful sculptures made by Gustav Vigeland and they are everywhere you turn, on every path. Also, in the park there are few large fountains with sculptures, walkways with different kind of flowers in beautiful colors, benches where you can sit and rest, absorb all this beauty. In the park complex there is a lake, museum and... More

I just love that art, especially in the form of outdoor sculptures, is available all over Oslo. This comes to life more than anywhere else in the Vigeland Sculpture Park (part of the Frogner Park). I'm amazed by the productivity and artistic expression of this sculptor. This is a must visit. Put on comfortable shoes, you will be spending some... More

I highly recommend visiting Vigeland Park, as it's beautiful and there are so many sculptures to see. However, we visited on a day where the ice, slush and snow made it a bit difficult to stay there as long as I would have liked.

This was a great park. The statues on the bridge were amazing as well as the obelisk. If you do some local research you will note you are not suppose to hold the hand of the 'Angry Baby' on the bridge as it is becoming damaged, therefore we have the funniest photos of out impressions. Easy to get to by... More
